The silence from the company as the share price has fallen from 42p to 16p is quite unbelievable. Are they going to sit back and watch it fall all the way back to 2pm?

Your silence is deafening NM!

Bailed...

Sold down and out since yesterday.

Took the hit of a rather large loss.

The protests will not go away.

Paris - Greece - Hong Kong - (Soon to be UK)

It will turn ugly and further drops in SOLG share price will IMO ensue.

Its been a good story.

No i believe he has been playing silly games with cornerstone, the guys do not get on, and they sold up there investment in solgold and moved there investment to cornerstone, because they didnt agree with NM, the way he was taking solgold forward, and dont think there has anythink going on in solgold towers, just think its silly games played by NM, he wanted the cornerstone share price down as low as possible, which in turn as also affected the solgold share price, and now the price is 16.4p

Granting options etc at this moment in time does smack of the old 'nero fiddling...'

Hi Gary. I agree that none of those things have helped the shareprice but it doesn't mean there is mismanagement. It is highly likely that those items are being used as bargaining chips behind the scenes for the long-term benefit of the Company. We can moan about the short-term impact on the shareprice but NM's main interest will be on longer term success.

I just hope that the current political crisis hasn't demolished those plans.

mknight, as in 'look we are issuing options at this apparently ridiculous level because we know they will vest'! :) Who knows, it might all look very different a week from now?

I hope for the sake of Ecuador that Moreno succeeds with his changes, the country could have a great future, or it could go the way of Venezuela.

Well NM hasnt helped the share price has he, no drilling updates for 1 year, what happened with the offer to cornerstone, which was getting translated to french 6 months ago, with no news and updates, shares like this will always drift, which he hasnt helped it, then moans recently about the share price, only ever interested in himself and his greedy fat fingers around his share options.

I would think at times like this the locals working for Solg will know where they are well off, and it would not be in their interests to go back to the situation they had before Solg turned up on their patch.

Footage of mostly young men hanging around in Quito streets doesn't look like organised groups on a mission, but more like bored and poor people going out to find a bit of excitement, but of course some of them will be hired trouble makers working for persons with a political ambition.

You do realise that the current carnage has absolutely nothing to do with anything SOLG have done wrong, don't you? Fundamentally this appears to be a well run company that is out of luck.

Interesting rns .

The timing of options when the share price is having a real bad time .

You can read it a few ways .

They are having a laugh, strike option at 60p, can you believe it, you couldnt make it up, NM should have stepped down over 12 months ago, taken a company with a M/C of 800 million to 300 million, the guy has lost the plot bigstyle, options at 60p, never will see 60p in a million years.

At least the option strike price is not set at 18p! Right now it doesn't seem that 60p will ever be achieved. Only another week of radio silence before Newcrest get over the line.
