09/10/2019 08:46 | Or SXX is great if you like the safe UK with its strong and stable government. | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:46 | High risk, yes. If you are not prepared to accept that, find a nice safe Carrilion or Thomas Cook to invest in :) | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:39 | If you can accurately predict what is going to happen politically in Ecuador over the next 6 months then go right ahead. There is a reason Ecuador gold has not been exploited before.....political uncertainty. The country had become more stable and so mining investment was tentatively taking off. Now that stability has gone, what do you think will happen to the investment? There is a real risk that SOLG becomes worthless. | lowtrawler
09/10/2019 08:37 | BHP and Newcrest rubbing their hands . | mknight
09/10/2019 08:32 | Lots of people over egging issues here. This precisely why the chart throws such divergent highs and lows over time. This is the best time to buy in this morning when lots have capitulated. | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:30 | Sad to see the share price drop this far from where is was but there are too many uncertainties at present for me to confidently invest. As a speculative investment it may be worth a punt but it's risky. The political situation does not help. Elections 2 years away someone mentioned, I'd rather they were tomorrow, then at least we'd know where we were and where the new (or same) government was heading. I don't think MR has handled the Cornerstone situation well. That's now become another uncertainty, as has finance. Don't want to be a doomsayer, as I think the potential is huge and I will get back in once the risk has been mitigated somewhat, or the price is just too good to ignore. | mikalan
09/10/2019 08:29 | Greenelf - the UK government hasn't left the capital for fear of violence. Get some perspective. | dmitribollokov
09/10/2019 08:26 | And the UK is stable? Lols | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:21 | Disappointingly, I have sold all my SOLG in light of the Ecuador situation. My logic is that no major is going to invest in Ecuador while the government is so unstable. With SOLG running out of cash in the next few months, it will make it very difficult for them to raise funding. The current government priorities are unlikely to be granting mining licenses. The combination of these 2 issues means, at best, SOLG will need to mothball their current operations. I will keep a watching brief on how this develops hoping to come back in later. Good luck to all those that remain. | lowtrawler
09/10/2019 08:17 | The employment manipulation trick is coming to an end in western countries. Moreno dix a deal with the IMF with their usual M.O. of austerity for the quid pro quo. And the people have seen through the distortions and silences of the media that supported Moreno and his Government. Venezuela will benefit with its old ally regaining non US and western leadership.Nationali | dogberry202000
09/10/2019 08:11 | Blue finish day end? Would not surprise... | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:07 | Bounce time! | greenelf
09/10/2019 08:04 | Yes, we can see the share price got cheaper lol! | greenelf
09/10/2019 07:55 | New article $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador SolGold. Newcrest’s and BHP’s Ecuadorian copper/gold growth option – a takeover of the Brisbane based and London listed SolGold – has got a whole lot cheaper, writes Barry FitzGerald. | pob69
09/10/2019 06:44 | Kaos3 Ask yourself how many times has their been a full blown recession when we have had full employment ? If we see hundreds of companies laying off workers then its time to watch out until then i cant see anything to worry about . | mknight
09/10/2019 05:59 | now 173 - very low | kaos3
09/10/2019 05:43 | Employment remains at all time highs so forget a major market crash . Maybe a pullback if sentiment is poor but no more imho . Ecuador has a problem with their people expecting subsidies on oil prices and maybe Moreno will have to make a deal . The short term winner here is Mining if things dont get completly out of hand . They badly need foreign monies coming in and a sustainable industry . | mknight
09/10/2019 04:52 | one can not focus just on specific tree when the forest starts burning imho then the quality and the beauty of the tree becomes irrelevant country risk, social unrests in general, financial market risks, region risks, ecology risk .... one can feel it in the guts. some do some do not many commodity shares (even producing) that I follow are at the lower support just waiting .... too many shares doing the same for my confort about the general forest situation | kaos3
09/10/2019 04:37 | Major protests planned for today. This isn't going away anytime soon and if anything may likely get worse before it gets better. Ask yourself one simple question. If you hadn't already invested, would you invest now? Market hates uncertainty and unfortunately this is where we are. Permits? MoM probably doesn't know where it's office is... | boris cobaka
08/10/2019 21:20 | A dip should hopefully be pretty aggressive and swift. I just don’t like the wider market here either. | dmitribollokov
08/10/2019 20:49 | I believe that the elections are two years away so there is plenty of time for the government to improve its popularity, sort out the mining strategy etc. That`s my hope of course. | arcadian
08/10/2019 20:31 | Strike tomorrow . Then i am sure an agreement will be made over fuel prices . It happens in europe , normally in France and can be nasty . Still long termers will not be worried. Nothing todo with Mining | mknight |
