One of the latest RNS said this month they would start drilling, now its gone back to early next year, not a good sign, and thanking all his staff, sounds like they have given up, scount drills were due to start shortly, just checked the RNS, does anyone know ehether they are still drilling now?

Er, it’s 100% a message to the govt. “Don’t fxk this up, or investment in your country is over”.

Ecuador are only just getting investors back on side. Bond investors are still very cautious on the country.

If this goes wrong it will ruin their economy and growth.

Pure irony! Perhaps he`s just got a great sense of humour or has just lost the plot.

The prisoner just about to be shot says " Have you heard the one about...…̷0;?"

Maybe it`s a reminder to the govt of what is at stake.

"Drilling is scheduled to commence on regional projects early next year subject to the government indicating a clear administrative path for obtaining the relevant environmental and water permits."

Yep hear you. I had the same with cey. Loved the co, hated the jurisdiction and politics.

Held it from ~25p, sold ~180p. Bought back in small around 115p. Smalls down on the buy back, but way up on that overall.

This will be similar scenario imo.

This isn't just a few disgruntled locals, this is a nation wide concern with well organised environmental pressure groups. They believe have constitutional law on their side. The government must have local consultation and IMHO this will go to a referendum.

Google translate from an open letter ...
"THE RIGHT TO THE POPULAR CONSULTATION OF THE CITIZENSHIP BEFORE EXTRACTIVE PROJECTS"

"Article 104 establishes the call for popular consultation by disposition of the citizens' initiative. Therefore, popular consultation is a right of Ecuadorians and Ecuadorians that can not be restricted or violated by governmental or private interests. We ask the court to guarantee the full exercise and the validity of the constitutional right to popular consultation, fundamental expression of democracy."
...
"We alert the Court that the national government and the mining companies intend to violate the right to the democratic participation of citizens to decide on the future in their territories and precautionary the fundamental resources for life such as water and soil. The participation of citizens in the definition of plans and public policies, is guaranteed by Art. 100 of the Constitution, however,"

Because there is 2.4 billion worth in the ground, doesnt mean that should be your market cap, its worth no more than say 1 billion about 50p maximum, whoever takes over, would have to build a mine which takes about 5 years with a cost of about 3 billion, now with all this going on Solgold will never arrange finance for this now, who would lend them money with all this going on, and if the vote goes in favour of solgold, you have a general election within 18 months, with the opposite party against mining, so solgold will never take this to production now.

I guess the reason the PEA didn't do much for the price was because those on the ground in Ecuador knew full well this challenge was in the system.

If a predator is watching then they presumably have had the time by now to get the necessary together for a low ball offer.

I wonder how the locals will vote in the potential referendum knowing that ENSA drilled outside of their permitted areas in 2013-2014. IMHO Doesn't bode well.

That's a fair enough viewpoint. It totally depends on your view of the probabilities and the scale of the upside/downside. I think the probability of it going against is fairly low and I don't that it would wipe the company out if the CC went against anyway. So expectationally I disagree with you.

Remember CEY, that's dragged on for years and the company makes loads of $$.

INV and SOLG are in totally different jurisdictions too. Also looks at the reaction of INV to the news. Hardly cratered...

It really does not make alot of difference imho .

Unless i knew for sure Solg Would win the CC i Would not risk a rise of 10p against behind wipped out .

Prefer to buy back at 40p less stress.
