Gold producers are what you need in the PF now peeps. Smallest cap gold producer out there is 24m AAU. Off the radar.

Further reporting Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #ecuador

"....Wilmer Meneses , common attorney of the comuneros de Jijón y Caamaño, Goaltal (Carchi), Carolina and Lita (Imbabura), when consulted by this newspaper pointed out that they still have many resources to exhaust. However, he did not specify what actions would be taken after the file of his order."

I'm pleased for holders (especially lefrene) .... big cahonas to hold through that and I guess mine were just not big enough and the wife reminds me of the same regularly.

But will be interesting to see if we've heard the last of this. I'm sure they'll be a lot of very unhappy locals around who will feel cheated by this ruling and decide to take matters into their own hands. Let's hope there's no resulting civil unrest aimed at those international miners

Sounds like someone would have made a shedload with a timely short on the downside and now make a similar amount as the share recovers... Nice.

Yep and that’s what happens when you try to stitch up the government and big business. That’s why it was only going to go one way.

Well here's a conservative price target for those with a little longer attention span.

To coincide with the metal rally i'd say 80p no problem in 3 months.

The other thing that would help will be if any short positions still not unwound by peeps using a hedge strategy.

If the trashing recently occurred prior to golds recent price surge what price now the metals have began to rally....

edit: yep solg got smacked down on this potential disaster around mid May - gold didn't begin it's impressive until end May.
Catch up time and then some....

Arcadian, I should think the whole mining industry is giving the government a very simple message right now. No one can pour billions into a country without certainty of being able to realise the benefit of the investment. The government needs the prospective tax harvest, it will have to come up with guarantees.

The Court did not rule on the claim itself and threw the request out because it did not meet the legal and constitutional requirements. I assume that some other party could satisfy these and surely in that case we are back to square one. It is the ongoing uncertainty which will affect Solgold and its potential bidders.

It will be interesting to see how our BOD see this ruling and our future prospects.l.
