The general concensus on LSE is that this is nearby but not actually Cascabel. But it goes to show how powerful the environmental lobby is. Our decision is imminent.
Do we feel lucky?

Future of Los Cedros Protective Forest, located in Imbabura, is settled in Corte

Los Cedros Protector Forest
The Court of Justice of Imbabura accepted the protection action in favor of Los Cedros Protective Forest , located in the province of Imbabura, in the northwest of Ecuador.

In addition, the Ministry of the Environment and Water offered public apologies to the communities in the area of ??influence of the Río Magdalena mining project, located in the Llurimagua sector, García Moreno parish, Cotacachi canton, Imbabura province.

The judicial resolution is based on the fact that the constitutional right to an environmental consultation was violated to the population of the area of ??influence of the Río Magdalena mining project, which was planned to be carried out in its jurisdiction.

The appeal was lodged by Jomar Cevallos Moreno during his tenure as mayor of Cotaccahi, and Jhesica Liseth Almeida Herrera, municipal district attorney.

The species that houses the Los Cedros Protected Forest, according to the community, run the risk of being affected by two concessions granted by the National Mining Company of Ecuador to the Canadian firm

Perhaps he`s sponsoring this. Didn`t see any mention of a declaration of interest but even so The Chamber of Mines has a valid point.

Plainly there's a lot of politics involved, no doubt ego's and empire building are in the mix. Whatever the decision is it has already been made, I dislike the theatrics of waiting for 8am local time. Will the confidence of the Solg people be misplaced?
