Cornerstone is a non issue imo.

They sold at an average price of 21.26p hence the major resistance there when we were breaking through.

NM is waiting for them to accept a lowball offer from SOLG. Making them suffer.

There is also a lot of misinformation on the lse board regarding what it means for cgp to have less than 10% ownership of SOLG. The requirement is for cgp to retain 10% ownership of ENSA, not SOLG.

Trouble is, if they sold more than 1% then we would need to have an RNS within 48 hours. Suggests any sales were very recent.

Let’s hope news before the conference call otherwise why have a call? They wouldn’t disclose new news on the call.

We now have BHP and Newcrest openly saying they are both “equipped should any opportunities present themselves” and it is clear they are both entering a growth phase of their business.
Then I get a message saying SOLG have 60m ounces of gold in their sites in Ecuador and “that is more than what even 1 major company on I ts own can manage”.

It’s a no brainer - they May collude and split SOLG 50/50 for some thing ridiculously cheap or they could go all out war.

I hope the markets don’t tank again like March, that’s the main risk I see to SOLG right now. Other than that, the off take agreement is less than 8 days away imo but could happen anytime now.

PS Re Newcrest war chest. Reports are its raising $1bn. $450m of that has just gone on the Fruta del Norte streams. Doesn't leave much for remaining 85% of alpala (assuming Cornerstone lets go its share_

Solg is simply worth what a savvy mining company is willing to pay. Alpala gives you a quick easy start comparatively speaking, and then you have 72 other sites some said to be as rich as Alpala. You're business is made up for 50 years and possibly a lot longer than that. So what's it worth to somebody who values it as a decades long, high volume, high yielding asset? Make your bids while dollars can still buy something.

For heavens sake DD please give it a rest.

No question you are an intelligent person so too is phattrader who’s opinion is contrary to yours.

Bottom line is you are both right or both wrong but at seperate times so only one of you will prove to be correct in your arguments.

I am invested so clearly I would prefer to analyse phattraders especially as his background is mining analysis which claim I have no reason to dispute.

NM will not take to production that’s a given.

SOLG is not on AIM but that may not affect your appetite for risk but keep watching as it may be black eye time soon.

RP. All those deals and subscription prices were set in a different environment to today. Independently verified' means nothing. Have you seen how their past predictions have fared ? And I've explained in detail on here why the broker 'targets' are to be taken with a big dose of salt. I've been monitoring such 'targets' for years , and they've without exception been proved wildly optimistic. One reason is that its not logical to 'pay' a NPV as a price for an investment. So, my friend, do some more reading. (And because whatever value - NPV or not - is calculated starting from 6 years time is just one reason to apply a discount. At 8% (pa - as is used for the NPVP) that means todays 'value' should be only 63% of that in 6 years time. If you don't understand that, you don't understand economics, and aren't qualified to judge the quality of any broker 'target'. Sorry !
And because Newcrest might be preparing a war chest doesn't mean they'll be paying the dream prices on here !
To sum up - Everything you say is with your rose tinted glasses on

If i am honest i also believe the stock market will crash . Not sure if it will be next week or next month but its going to happen imho

A couple of bits struck me today .. The ECB basically saying it was the end of the world and the Gold market dropping when it should have been on the up .

Lets hope i am wrong mybe its watching too much TV and listening to DD everyday but my gut tells me to be careful .

Bring on the news tomorrow so we can have one enourmous rise to sell into .

Have a good evening all .

Interesting quote from the ever imformative AFR (behing firewall) relating to Newcrest's recent news Solgold $SOLG $SOLG.L $CGP #cascabel #ecuador

Mr Biswas said Newcrest decided to raise more than was needed for the Ecuador acquisition because it was entering ''a growth phase'' at its existing assets, and may want to make other acquisitions.

"It is always good to have low leverage and cash on hand and I think it is doubly important at times of uncertainty,'' said Mr Biswas.

"It also allows us to take advantage of any other opportunities that may present themselves."

I think the majority of people expect a deal to be done, I certainly do. I suspect a starting bid around 50p which will move to 60p without competition and up to 120p with. Trouble is, it's impossible to know when such a bid will materialize. It's also not sensible to invest depending on a bid

Rougepierre..This is what I wrote on 25/4, so I agree with your thinking."All metrics give different answers, simply give a range of possibility. In the end it is the outcome of the dance between buyer(s) and a seller. There is no definitive answer."

DD...

Mining doesn't start till 2025...

The NPV has been independently verified including copper price forecasts...

Meanwhile, Newcrest paid 38.4p a share, for a planned partnership with SOLG, not a takeover and...

BHP paid 45p a share...

And there are 62 million options exercisable at 60p, none of them later than December 2021, some issued as recently as September 2019...

Why on earth would any predator think that a 40p starting bid would be regarded as anything short of derisory...

NM must have 80/100p in mind and remember they've had several approaches in the past, so they must have some idea what a predator would be willing to pay...

I think you need to reappraise my friend...

I like lowtrawler (I think without going back through posts) have reduced my holding to a more comfortable level exiting about 3rd today at a good profit. Just felt like had too much in a company (aim listed) and been shafted too many times before. Very happy being here but just took some risk off. Probably now I've said that it'll fly but I'm happy and more relaxed now. The recent rise just made the decision easier. The rest can run and run...!
