Lowtrawler, the reason why gold falls at times like these is due to the workings of the USA REPO market. 10yr Treasuries are the currency of the REPO market so other assets get sold in order to get cash to buy 10yr Treasuries which are then pawned on the REPO market. The reason why the 10yr Treasuries are indispensable is that despite having pawned them on the REPO market, they can still remain on the books of the borrower as asset! Hence gold and all else gets jettisoned to get cash to buy 10yr Treasuries, which despite then being pawned remain for accounting purposes as if you still owned them!

We need a portfolio exit on tern to free up some cash and take advantage of these insane prices. World's biggest copper deposit here and sooner or later it will get mined so keep the faith all.... held these despite it falling to a penny a few years ago.... then came the big rise!

Hey MrP , tough couple of years for both of us I'd imagine, (ARS aswell)
Think this will come good but not easy at the minute. So many bargains out there now but not in cash at minute unfortunately. Could do with a reversal of fortune but nothing in sight as yet! As I said, hold tight, this was flying a couple of Fridays ago towards 23p area - these will be back there once all of this market overreaction calms down imo.

Hey mark, yes.... you are quite right!
Never in a million years did I ever expect Solgold to fall to this level.
I’d love to pile in at this level if I had the dosh!
How eloquently put FSA.... you never fail to make me chuckle!

It's the end of the world as we know it...The extreme action being taken by governments everywhere seems nuts to me but it's the world we are living in. The bail outs that governments will need to make to stop whole industry sectors going under will make the bank bail outs seen like a walk in the park. The amount of fiat currency that will need to be printed is mind boggling. This should be great news for gold but even it is falling!I have no idea what the bottom will be for SOLG but I'm still convinced it will end up trading on many multiples of the current price. For this reason, it is one of only a couple of shares that I am continuing to hold.

It's my understanding that if he ceases to have the intention to buy, an announcement to this effect would be needed together with a reason.

Interesting, because now if he doesn't buy then one has to assume it's due to insider trading.

I would normally have said no, NM cannot buy while in possession of unreleased price sensitive information. However, with the announcement that he intends to buy, I suspect it gets around that issue.

"The MSM has been highly selective in what it blasts across your screen."Your average joe doesn't have the foggiest about high finance. Show him pictures of queues around the block of desperate people trying to withdraw their life savings from a bank, then he gets it!

The USA sell off is apparently due to a liquidity issue, as everything is held by leverage and the players need to REPO bonds either overnight or for a couple of weeks to get the cash to keep their positions open. If nobody will take their bonds as collateral they're screwed and have to sell whatever stock they are holding. It seems the FED has woken up to this and is offering $1.5 trillion to provide the essential liquidity. I notice nobody is talking about the Sept 17th interest spike in the REPO market which apparently saw a FED supplied $6.5+ trillion do the merry go round! The FED stepped in and headed that off without a ripple in the MSM. This time they have allowed a crisis to happen before very publicly coming to the rescue. Hence I believe this opportune bug scare is deliberately over-hyped, to provide an excuse to do a re-set, a good old clear out, and of course Mr Trump and friends get the credit for saving the economy!

Well it doesn't matter what I think, but if this thing is being stage managed then it will probably be over and done in about 6 weeks, in time for electioneering to begin in earnest mid May.

A good time to be a vulture mknight. we don't know what NM's true game plan is. Currently posturing as a would be independent miner, but once all the ducks are lined up with finance in place, would he be tempted to sell Alpala? I know I would, as there all those 72 other prospects to exploit and $5 billion would be useful war chest to do it. We know it's 18 months to 2 years away before anything will can kick off, a heck of a lot can happen in that time. The bug scare forgotten and China/India going flat out again, and copper at a sensible price, and gold probably above $1800.

Lefrene . Yes indeed not the time to be out now . Hopefully in a few months we will have the monies needed to take us another 2 years down the líne. However will we make it or will one of the big boys make an offer .
