20/10/2020 17:28 | Too late gone for a pound . When you look back it was obvious , why would they let the share price go so high .. we should have seen it coming . I knew it was worth so much more but i only managed to get few before it was gone .. so quick . | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 17:25 | mk, Not so sure about BHP. Ecuador is pretty new territory for BHP and Solg have been there for years now, are a significant employer and behaving with admirable sense and respect in many local communities and on good terms with government up to ministerial levels. And they have discovered a tier 1 project and on the verge of discovering more. A hostile bid that threatened the good work that Solg is doing would go down like a lead balloon. More likely, IMHO, is a buyin to develop Alpala by BHP and ANother (Barrick/Newcrest) which allows Solg to keep a share of Alpala but carry on doing what it has been doing: discovering rich resource to benefit both Solg and the host country. | pecker1
20/10/2020 17:22 | At what price would a bid be successful? If we have 3 tier 1's, the possibility of a mining complex at Porvenir with multiple mines, maybe the same at Rio?Today, an opportunistic bidder might get away with 100p but if some of the options are better proven, it could be 200p next year. In reality, that's the difference between £2bn and £4bn. A major will scoff at the £2bn difference when they are picking up probably £15bn value of assets. I don't see a bid this year. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 17:17 | Lowtrawler We will never make Rio 😱 Sometimes the mist clears and you can see things clearly 👀🌪 It just was not ment to be just before 🎃🧨 | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 17:11 | We can talk about prospective takeover bids all we want. As private investors, we will be last to know. Timing of bids almost always takes people by surprise. Sometimes, bids never arise for reasons which will never be known. To my mind, Rio will be the clincher. If that's a third tier 1, the majors will have to act. However, they can wait for MRE's to be produced. They might pounce when we announce a new round of financing next year. Mining seldom moves as fast as people expect. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 16:57 | pob69, Re drill core boxes: think your guess is a good one re metres - pretty deep. Looks like a significant interval of very consistent mineralisation - presumably high grade! Sometimes when they do sterilisation drilling or to test underground conditions etc., they hit high grade stuff almost by accident. Ironic but very nice. Hasten to add that I'm not a geologist and could be mistaken but I have filmed drill core on location in the past. | pecker1
20/10/2020 16:51 | LF BHP has 3 billion pounds so their first offer will be 75p and take it up from there . No escape . RIP little SOLGOLD . UT at sometime this week could be 73p Today 37p | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 16:48 | MK, I'm sure he knows how the game has to be played but presumably just couldn't get the permits and the dosh together to get cracking on. If only he we able to do 18 months ago, that which he is doing now. Although he's a rich man he will lose more out of a fumbled exploitation than any of us. But perhaps when the game begins, we will learn just what other share holders there are who will dig their heels in for a fair price? | ![]() lefrene
20/10/2020 16:38 | LF Yes looks like its going to happen . NM turning the Corner to get away from Newcrest and gets hit by a truck which if i am not wrong has BHP printed on the side . It reality he just couldnt get the regionals drilled in time . Believe it or not i actually sent him an email 9 months ago telling him .. no reply of BHP of course have had plenty of time to plan the takeover . Some said they would leave it to after the PFS or wait until they had the full Porvenir results but no 2 years locked up gives you plenty of time to think . On his headstone was printed . Died from getting hit by a truck but cost his kids a fortune . Covid 19 . . | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 16:26 | mk, if NM can get drilling and demonstrate that he has three or more Tier 1's, then he could well convince the likes of Blackrock to hold out for a lot more. But of course there are plenty who will go for a quick deal and not wait for the fat lady to sing. It wouldn't hurt NM to put some numbers out there, to illustrate just how much these sites could be worth if they prove to be Tier 1's. The miners will know of course and I guess Blackrock and Citi-Bank do too. The longer we wait the richer the game will be. The miners will know that, so perhaps they will soon play their first card? | ![]() lefrene
20/10/2020 16:23 | Interesting and extensive report by Chris Temple of the National Investor looking at both companies SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L #porvenir #cascabel #ecuador $CGP Lots in there to get your teeth into. | ![]() pob69
20/10/2020 16:18 | Lefrene its about 150 a share , no way NM can defend that price . Just got 12k more just in case its tomorrow 😃👍 | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 16:12 | mk, that was my thought when I read that item. $3.5 billion is a handy bit of dosh. By the way Solg is shaping up there could well be 200 years worth of mining across its biggest finds. That would be a very nice set up for a major mining company. Good to see copper looking perky today. | ![]() lefrene
20/10/2020 16:02 | Hopefully after it's share price explodes..... | chumbo1
20/10/2020 15:59 | I see BHP decided not to go ahead with a 3.5 billion investment in one of its plants in Australia . I wonder if the monies will be used to buy Solgold before its shareprice explodes again on news of assays at Porvenir and another discovery at Rio Amarillo | ![]() mknight
20/10/2020 15:52 | Thanks pob, I believe they were having to do some drilling at Alpala for the PFS / DFS but more to confirm mine plans than exploration. Wouldn't have expected any RNS for those. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 15:51 | John Mayer share price Angel profiling a number of explorers including solgold at 7:10mins for 30 seconds! SOLG $SOLG $SOLG.L #porvenir #cascabel #ecuador $CGP "very good chance of discovering something bigger with their exploration projects" | ![]() pob69
20/10/2020 15:40 | Now here is a tease from 16 hours ago via Linkedin from Santiago Vaca, Project Manager at Solgold (additionally shared by Ingo Hofmaier) who provided this title with a further 6 second video of some drill cores! "Exploring Ecuador, stay tuned for news update!" The cores are interesting and maybe a geologist can translate some of the numbering - for example are the lots of 4 digit number like 1388 or 1416, possibly refering the metres? Additionally the box labelling is "GHD 20 011" which relates to "Alpala" drilling in 2020. I am not sure we have had any 2020 drill results from Alpala so clearly something interesting is happening! (Worth noting drilling releases; PDH = Porvenir, BDH = Blanca, LDH = La Hueca with Rio drills to be mobilised late-October) | ![]() pob69
20/10/2020 14:06 | Just wait for our third tier 1 at Rio. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 13:52 | This story might take longer to play out than some expect, but the story is a very good one:) Two Tier 1's , wow! Do you know how hard it is these days to find a tier 1 copper-gold find!? I do expect this to be sold for billions, but it will take time. | ![]() the count of monte_cristo
20/10/2020 13:45 | You can tell from the extremely low volume today that it is casual trading and not pointing towards any particular value or direction. There will be a temptation over the next 2 weeks to sell as the price will either remain low or possibly drop another few pence. It's going to test our belief in the news to come.Personally, I'm all in. I think it is vanishingly unlikely that the assay results for Porvenir are bad. I have a lot of faith in the SOLG team for further successful drilling at Porvenir and Rio. I might be disappointed if they don't announce outline financing alongside the PFS but it will be a temporary setback. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 13:43 | The selling has come from profit taking: traders will have done very well on that last rise from 24/27p to 43p. The question is, at what level will they jump back in to trade the Porvenir assays (with the other drill to also go ahead and the PFS as a safety net)? Cornerstone seem to have gone quiet: what has happened to that EGM? | ![]() charlieeee
20/10/2020 13:17 | Mk, anyone who believes in the 3 pieces of future news I mentioned earlier will be delighted to buy at these prices. | ![]() lowtrawler
20/10/2020 12:44 | We have had a good pull back from 43.90 so i have a few orders in today as i feel extremly comfortable at these prices . Impossible to guess the top or bottom . But seems cheap to me . | ![]() mknight |
