As far as I can see, nothing is currently built into our price for Rio Amarillo. If it has exciting preliminary drill results next month, I fully expect that to push us over 50p. It will be helped along by Porvenir drilling and assay results. The Alpala PFS won't hurt either. If good drill results continue at Porvenir and are joined by Rio, I can see a steady rise from 50p over the following few months leading to MRE.We are still underpinned by Alpala.

"Pg 36: At the Kamoa deposit: LOWER GRADE <0.5% cU Copper. Most of the higher grade mineralisation ...sandstone interbeds....

HYPOGENE Mineralisation is characterised by C H A L C O P Y HI T E & Bornite- D O M I N A T E D ZONES.

"Kakula: Hypogene copper sulphides in the mineralised sequence are zoned in CHALCOCIDE,Bornite & Chalcophyhite with CHALCOCIDE BEING THE DOMINANT mineral.

Copper mineralisation comprises 3 distinct styles: Supergene, hypogene and mixed mineralisation. Hypogene forms the DOMINANT MINERALISATION style ..and occurs at depths as SHALLOW AS 30M.

All 3 styles of mineralisation occur at KAMOA: at KAKULA all of the mineralisaion occurs well below the surface and is HYPOGENE."

"Given that copper grades are AT KAKULA are SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER than the AVERAGE grades found at KAMOA, we are highly confident that fast-tracking the development of Kakula will have a profound positive impact on the economics of the OVERALL KAMOA-KAKULA Project."

CGP - The Solgold tender offer for CGP has come to an end. The proposed Solgold EGM of 27 Oct 2020 as mooted has not materialised ie announcement given it needs notification and clear days. Not surprised given the Provenir news as other parties are no longer interested in joining?

CGP- Issued a factsheet
per @pob on CEO.CA CGP, 4 hrs ago, Fri, 15 Oct 2020
Canadian comment is that it appears that they are putting themselves up for sale.

So, life moves on and Solgold will have provided "fair value" for CGP stock to a minority holder of Alpala - ENSA and that is what the records will show? Fair value is implied as norm.

Not really surprising - SOLG bid for CGP and bid period came to a close on Wednesday night. Since then CGP have said the bid was successfully defended - but SOLG board has said nothing?
Market hates uncertainty and until we know what SOLG are going to do with their bid for CGP nobody is trading.

Mirabeau:

@pob on CEO.CA just posted a link to CGP* new factsheet.
hxxps://ceo.ca/cgp 4 hours ago

It shows "Sprotts and clients ~5%."
Wonder why it has a "~" but no for the others at the top of the holders?

--
I am not sure as the Sprotts list is the latest dated today, Fri, 15 Oct 2020.

However, of interest is the fact that there was a lot of buying in GGP which many commented was not private investors. Now, we know that the Sprott ETF Junior Miners were buying but they do not publicise it via interviews etc.

Sprotts is ONLY 1 of the gold etf*s and there are many more eg Van Eck etc.
So, it is possible that in the coming days that other etf*s specialising in junior miners may also pick up solgold shares? Or Sprott*s may increase its stake?

Just discussing as I am trying to look at other institutional holders currently.

Mirabeau,

It shows GGP as their largest holding (8%) in that link.

Or do you mean specifically ES private funds?

Edit: Lol, just noticed you are talking about a different co ;)

As a courtesy reply:

"Solgold 13 Oct 2020 RNS:

F i r s t drill hole at Provenir intersects 8 9 3 m of VISIBLE porphyry mineralisation. 2ND HOLE commenced closer to interpreted CORE of the SYSTEM.

Highlights:
PDH-20-001, the 1st hole at Provenir, at Cacharposa was completed at 909.3m depth, having INTERSECTED 8 9 3. 4m of V I S U A L C H A L C O P Y R I T E mineralisation from 15.9m depth....

terminated in weak to moderate mineralisation. Solgold geologists interpret the hole passed across the U P P E R periphery of the CORE of a LARGE, S T R O N G L Y MINERALISED porphyry COPPER- G O L D system."

"PDH-20-002, the 2nd hole at Provenir COMMENCED 12 OCT 2020 AND IS AT CURRENT DEPTH OF 3M.

Further info:
"VISIBLE copper sulphide mineralisation was observed in PDH-20-001 FROM 15.9m to 909.3m. The DOMINANT copper sulphide material observed WAS C H A L C O P Y R I T E, an important ore-forming COPPER Sulphide mineral CONTAINING 34.5% COPPER."

My Comment:
So, from the Solgold RNS itself, it states "VISIBLE CHALCOPHYRITE"- "dominent copper sulphide material containing 34.5% copper.

Iceberg did a blog and he mentioned that it is 1-1.5 of Alpala with a higher grade zone. However, he did not give the Alpala grade ie whether it is from the overall or the higher grade zone.

So, the actual core pictures shown are from different depths and therefore without XRF one can only classify them BETTER OR EQUAL/less TO ALPALA in the MRE 3[non high grade zone]. The high grade zone will be also within a range normally even for Alpala.

To give an idea. Junin the next door to Alpala had a overall of some 0.89% Cu copper from recall. Alpala*s MRE#3 is 2.66Bt @0.53% CU EQUIV [copper] including a high-grade core 442Mt @1.4% CU EQUIV [Ref: 7 Apr 2020 CGP RNS]

---
KAMOA-KAKULA [Largest undeveloped copper project of Robert Friedland fame
"MRE 423 Million Tonnes [Mt] grading 4.68% CU COPPER with a cut-off @3%cu. Indicated stands at 1.4 Billion Tonnes [BT] grading 2.7% cu copper, at a 1% cut-off.

--
THESIS:
So, one can see the major part of Alpala is at 0.53% cu EQUIV. and the high grade 442MT [Kamoa-Kakula 423MT grades 4.68% cu copper with the major part at 2.7% cu copper].

In general, higher grade could be in the range of 3%-5% cu copper for the o v e r a l l.

So, when the assay results for Provenir come out, we will learn of the grades at various depth as shown from the cores possibly but more importantly the overall grade - Provenir may also have gold. In short, better than Alpala [major part]??
and AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN Alpala high grade core overall or as GOOD as Kamoa-Kakula? That question will be answered shortly. In the meantime, HOLE 2 PROVENIR is already drilling as above. Not ediing for typos. J.L Fri, 16 Oct 2020.

I think I've worked it out...

I believe this is all a well constructed bid defence, which will either avert a bid or more likely ensure the highest price possible...

Nick made the bid for Cornerstone as a diversion tactic, knowing it wouldn't succeed, but buying him time right up to the BHP expiry date, so that he could have the maximum time possible to drill all four targets.

The last few RNSs have been timed and planned to get the share price up as far as possible before the expiry date.

Whether or not there is a bid immediately, Nick now has the ammunition to blitz the market and either get the maximum bid price or get the share price to a level where it makes suitors think twice. After all, look what happened to GGP in a short space of time with a fraction of the prospective news we have here.

The fact is, he doesn't have to RNS drill news that hasn't been independently assayed.

So he can release it to suit the necessary timing. My guess is Blanca and La Hueva first and or second. Then initial exciting news from Rio. Then the PFS and finally the blockbuster from Porvenir.

After that, if he hasn't had to suspend the share price because of a formal approach he can keep the drill news coming until he has 4 more Tier 1s.

And meanwhile BHP may not be the only suitor. Eg Barrick may be waiting to see what BHP does and how Newcrest reacts.

Buckle up guys...ready for lift off and the ride of your lives...

AIMHO as usual....

LT,

I would not worry about funding. The drill results will have them queueing up at the door.

Still think a buy in by BHP et al at Alpala is possible with a free carry for Solg.

LT,

Seems to me the need for the Cornerstone acquisition has melted away as Solgs regional exploration has forged ahead. The terms offered seem far too generous now after that amazing first hole from Porvenir. And pob69 research shows they might come with unwelcome baggage.

NMs "shock and awe" drilling and development plan suggest Solg now has a whole new set of priorities. A massive at surface deposit with the potential for higher grades looks a very attractive commercial proposition. Then there is Rio and the others!
