22/7/2017 11:53 | This or something similar has been posted up before (by Sherlock?) Seems BP do have plans in Nigeria. How do you produce methanol? I believe it is made from a process with natural gas as the starting block. | astralvision
22/7/2017 11:48 | So now it's not the big bp we thought but a completely diff company couldn't make it up. | aventador
22/7/2017 11:46 | Exactly Astral, the docs losing the plot. | rod99
22/7/2017 11:45 | Sirius Petroleum PLC (SRSP.LN) rocketed almost 50% as it confirmed talks with BP PLC (LON:BP.) over funding to support a drilling programme on the Ororo Field in Nigeria. Reports at the weekend suggested BP would lend Sirius between £5mlm and £10mln as part of an offtake deal. Ororo, offshore Nigeria, is Sirius’s main oil producing asset. | rod99
22/7/2017 11:42 | no, it said BP, no idea why you insist on calling it by a name it has not used for 15+ years, British Petroleum. it's a decent point though, looking back to the release of Schlumberger they didn't say Schlumberger ltd or Schlumberger NV, so perhaps it's a completely different Schlumberger altogether. One could do the same exercise on anyone anywhere has done a deal with, but what would be the point.... Too ridiculous for words.imo. | astralvision
22/7/2017 11:41 | My take on the situation and possible reason for protracted talks is that BP want the gas for contract commitments in Asia where they are selling gas at a 200% profit while the Nigerian Federal Government don't want the gas to leave the country....hence a possible impasse between the two entities. | htrocka2

22/7/2017 11:28 | If I may repeat. There is nothing in either of the official releases which states they are in discussions with a Co. known as British Petroleum, BP plc, or BP.LN. would it have the slightest interest in providing a pitiful $5m to support the drilling of a marginal field when its other interest in W Africa is a $7bn prog for Senegal. | dr rosso
22/7/2017 11:23 | Compare the two. qprallans quote... He also explained that within the next five years, the federal government would enact laws to favour indigenous investors in the country’s oil industry to enable them compete favourably across the globe. Kachikwu stated that it was time for Nigeria to consider her interests first above any other interests. From srsp' website These reforms continue to support indigenous projects and the Company's partnership with the Ondo State government, through Owena Oil & Gas Limited which is owned 100% by the Ondo State government, provides valuable access to proven oil discoveries located within Ondo State. Efficient monetisation of associated gas, which could replace flaring and help develop the country's power sector, is a key focus of the Federal Government. The managing director of the NNPC reiterated their commitment to increasing Nigeria's gas production which is in line with our strategy to commercialise the gas on the Ororo field and generate additional sources of revenue. | htrocka2
22/7/2017 11:21 | Is this April 1st or something? vatnabrekk, you are probably correct, but, ok, I will play along. How about this pr, it's even got the 'plc' bit in it,but , funny, it's don't mention 'British Petroleum' or any other of BP's old names. Sirius Petroleum In Talks With BP About Nigeria Field Financing Published June 12, 2017 Features Dow Jones Newswires LONDON – Oil and gas company Sirius Petroleum PLC (SRSP.LN) Monday said it is in talks with BP PLC (BP.LN) about a facility to support the financing of a proposed drilling program on the Ororo Field in Nigeria. | astralvision
22/7/2017 11:05 | Another Schlumberger involved company..... free stock charts from uk.advfn.com 'Schlumberger electric logging and fracture imaging completed, cement plug in deeper Corallian sandstone set and 7-inch steel casing currently being run in the hole. Flow testing of multiple zones over an aggregate 900 ft total perforated section to commence following setting of remaining 7-inch steel casing to TD and well completion.' | htrocka2
22/7/2017 11:05 | Maybe it's the artist previously known as British Petroleum? | xerot
22/7/2017 11:02 | No way would BP allow its name to be used in an rns if it wasn't BP the company formally known as British Petroleum. | rod99
22/7/2017 11:00 | Read again. Neither statements state BP PLC. | dr rosso
22/7/2017 10:19 | I think Dr. R. is winding us up! | vatnabrekk
22/7/2017 10:11 | Why would there be any reference to British Petroleum? It's been BP plc since 2001. Why would they be called by an old name? Funny, they didn't mention BP Amoco in the offical statements either! This board is verging on complete lunacy at times.imo. | astralvision
22/7/2017 10:06 | The only BP this company interacts with is my Blood Pressure ! | twentysixpointtwo
22/7/2017 10:03 | The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, has disclosed that Nigeria will make a calculated change of direction in its oil and gas business in order to focus on meeting the growing demands of countries in the African continent, THISDAY reports. Rather than pushing further in its traditional petroleum trade destinations such as Europe and the Americas which he said their demands were thinning down, Kachikwu stated that Nigeria would now shift its focus to push to take over the African market, making sure that majority of the volumes of oil and gas demands of the continent came from her oil fields. He stated this in his opening remarks at the sixth edition of the annual Sustainability in the Extractive Industries (SITEI) conference with the theme: ‘building local for global’ yesterday in Abuja. According to him, the country would work with Angola to ensure that both countries secure and satisfy oil demands from the continent. He also explained that within the next five years, the federal government would enact laws to favour indigenous investors in the country’s oil industry to enable them compete favourably across the globe. Kachikwu stated that it was time for Nigeria to consider her interests first above any other interests. | qprallan
22/7/2017 10:02 | Perhaps there is a very good reason that neither of the 2 official statements contain any ref to British Petroleum. Read them both again. If you go to the British Petroleum website, you can find Mr Looney going on about gas expansion, sure enough. But you`ll also see that this BP has 7 major projects lined up between 2016 and 2019, and none of them involve Nigeria. | dr rosso
22/7/2017 09:44 | Dr Rosso, are you suggesting that the BP referred to isn't (the formerly known as) British Petroleum? | detective captain sean signal
22/7/2017 09:38 | Now you've confused me, Dr. Rosso. Earlier you were talking about a buy-out (of SRSP) and now you refer to RTO. Why the change of heart? Or is it basically the same thing? | vatnabrekk
22/7/2017 09:23 | A Pro-Active Investor post regarding a Schlumberger comment.(dated, 19th Dec 2016) 'Schlumberger will provide Sirius with a comprehensive package of managed and integrated products and services on an offshore drilling programme, scheduled for the first half of next year.. sched|ule. (definition) 1.a plan for carrying out a process or procedure, giving lists of intended events and times: Bobo got a bit excited when 'Add' and 'Schlumberger' signed up and used the noun 'will' (drill by H1), whereas Schlumb were more cautious and included the 'verb' 'scheduled' in their statement, that by its very definition implies 'intention' therefore not definitive, hence I think we all, myself especially,, over-reacted when H1 was missed......therefor Ruedolf made a comment about the finance, I'm of the belief that various scenarios are in play here...with plans a,b and c in place, and believe that if no agreement is made with BP,,,Schlum takes over...but at a price. | htrocka2
22/7/2017 09:18 | There still seems to be a 'million' buyer, who the hell is it? | oakville
22/7/2017 09:16 | Back from a week in Canada. I see nothing's changed apart from the share price has lowered slightly. I might switch off my PC altogether and come back after Christmas. Lol | oakville |
