15/12/2019 12:19 | Hello again NMRN, My thoughts on the possibility of a pre-pack were that the contractual situation was far too complicated to make such a deal feasible and I discounted it completely, but you could be right, we'll have to wait and see. In terms of government loan guarantees, I agree with you, and have been saying for more than 2 years that the Sirius gov guarantee hopes would probably turn out to be futile. | muckshifter
15/12/2019 12:07 | muckshifter, Thanks for reply......I have been distracted by the REPO/Banking crisis...….and how to play it......which is probably to find an island and hide. | 11_percent

15/12/2019 09:07 | Thank you for the various replies to my post 46254. Please keep them coming. Very good to read the various views and I particularly like Aussi's point that the UK Government will be in a much better position to help Sirius once we're out of the EU at the end of January 2020. Also good to read book5's post re the Sunday Times reporting the Government's plans to "improve the lives of the working class voters in the North of England" AND "We're drawing up a very detailed and very revolutionary plan and we are going to implement it". Sirius may well be in Boris's thoughts. | scargs
15/12/2019 05:47 | Some paragraphs selected from Sunday times article: The prime minister called in senior civil servants, including cabinet secretary Mark Sedwill, on Friday afternoon and announced that the whole government had to shift its focus to improving the lives of the working-class voters in the north of England who backed Brexit and switched to the Tories. ● Merging the Department for International Trade with the business department to create a powerful outfit that can do trade deals with the US, Japan and Australia while transforming the economy in the north of England Insiders say new ministers will be selected based on their expertise and ability to drive change rather than whether they are good media performers. A senior figure said: “It will be pretty big. It will be finding the people who can do the jobs and not worry about media and short-term things. We’re drawing up a very detailed and very revolutionary plan and then we are going to implement it.” | book5
14/12/2019 12:10 | Only if they view the product and project as viable, is it? Why was support not forthcoming at previous discussions? | clotted cream
14/12/2019 11:28 | Here is a topic for discussion. The Conservative Government has a clear majority. Do you think that the Government will now lend the money to Sirius so that the mine can be built? This would be a wonderful move to support the North East economy. | scargs
13/12/2019 22:57 | Hi muckshifter, In that case I can see no reason why any major would settle for only 50% of the company at the current share price. If anyone did, and I sincerely doubt it, that would represent a cracking deal for existing shareholders. All risks through to production would be someone elses' problem and they would get to keep half the company? I would reckon they wouldn't settle for less than 80% in those circumstances. Seems extremely unlikely. NMRN | not my real name
13/12/2019 22:01 | Summarised. MS...I find it a bit challenging to decipher your theories, and assumptions into anything definitive, though perhaps that's just a reflection of the current uncertainty and lack of other news? It seems to me that you base your posts on an assumption that Woodsmith will definitely one day be a Polyhalite mine, and on an assumption that Polyhalite will sell well, and on a hope that international mining majors are now looking in great detail at the project. Therefore perhaps I'm right in guessing that you are more bullish than bearish at the moment? | kreature

13/12/2019 13:37 | NMRN, I mean take all future funding under their wing and forget about all that has gone before, which should result in huge savings, imo. | muckshifter |
