The institutions were selling forward today. They were selling at 18, the shares they will get for 15p....easy money.

All broker notes are useless. They're mainly used by rampers.

Hey...your living dangerously.....if Johnwise hears you talking like that, he will ban you from his thread, even if you have never been on it.

My dear fruity, on the contrary, Liberum are honourable City Gentlemen, and act with honesty at all times.

The explanation is that they have Chinese Walls within the organisation, so the analysists have no idea what the Investment Bankers are doing. This is completely as it should be.

Then again, they might be just a bunch of scammers......take your pick.

Well I don't think that you are allowed to encourage other people to buy, if you are selling, or 'forward selling'. But it's London so I guess no-one gives a whatsit ?

Could someone explain the attitude of Liberum Capital. They are involved in the Firm Placing and Placing and Open Offer part of the Stage 2 financing, i.e. 15p-18p. Therefore they must have known the negative effect this would have on the share price when this Finance package was announced. So why on the 25th April did they reiterate a buy note for Sirius Minerals when the share price stood around 21.5p?

sounds like a good wheeze

My core holding is free carry from trading, but I actually bought some more today to participate in the open offer - mostly because I think there is a risk that the 10% of placing set aside for our participation may well be over-subscribed and that what ever we seek in the open offer will be scaled back.

Don't you rather think they were our existing CB holders buying back their shorts?

They are exchanging their old bonds for new, so it's double double bubble for them.

1. Buy CB
2. Sell short (they did most of this in the 30s and quite a bit in the 20s, kind of explains why they weren't buying back under the strike price in recent months)
3. Exchange CB for shares.

Only step 3 is now buy back short position having had no risk exposure, exchange old CB for new CB and on it goes.
