He's just not genuine, I guarantee you by next week he will be saying how this will be worth 6p in a matter of days. It's remarkable how quickly these newbie ignorant amateurs become the foremost expert in a matter of days.

Kreature. Zero They are spending all the money on getting the mine to production. Until we are actually digging the stuff up we are generating not a dollar.

I also believe US QT and interest rate rises are sucking the liquidity from debt markets.

Hi denny,

ADVFN, in common with most other financial websites, take the buy/sell price and divide it by 2. They then attribute volume to whichever side is nearest.

For example: Buy 132p Sell 130P

Trades at 131 or less are sells and over 131 are buys. Anything AT 131p goes in the "?" column.

Very often trades will go through at 130p and 130.5p. This is the ACTUAL spread rather than the "advertised price" but both will be attributed to the sell side of the trading data.

If you look at the trades throughout the day you will usually see a pattern developing where the ACTUAL spread is far tighter than the displayed spread.

The easiest way to spot the actual price is to buy access to live data. ADVFNs approach would normally give a reasonably balanced guide to trades but the spreads on penny shares are almost always larger in percentage terms that on the higher priced shares.

Todays data is a perfect example of the flaws in the system used. It is utterly impossible, in any market, for buy volume of 26m and sell volume of 12m to result in a fall in the share price of 4.5%.

The whole basis of any market is the law of supply and demand.

If you don't want to pay for a premium site simply get a live quote from your online broker and see what the actual spreads are then look at the data on here.

The conspiracy theorists on here will always tell you it is market manipulation but the truth is much simpler. Typical quoted spreads on SXX are usually around 0.10 to 0.15p where the actual spread is usually around 0.04 to 0.05p. That's why trades end up on the wrong side of the equation.

Hope this helps.

Probably easier to look at trading volumes of higher priced shares like RDSB to spot a better example of the real spreads.

They are trading between themselves to create the perception of heavy volume. Basically, just self gratification.

First Sirius Minerals tunnelling machine unveiled

The machine will bore the first of three planned tunnel drives which will make up the 23 mile tunnel from a new underground mine, near Whitby, to a processing facility on Wilton International in Redcar. Two other machines are planned to be launched in 2020 from Whitby and Lockwood Beck, near Guisborough, to complete the final 15 miles of the six-metre diameter tunnel.

Workers will operate the machine 24 hours a day, seven days a week, lining the tunnel with concrete segments as it goes.
