rrr,

Let it go mate. The trade was 106m on Friday. It is naff all to do with these options.

If it was they would have been separate trades at different prices between 10p and 34p!

Ppvn I am looking on my laptop now so all columns are showing in correct line. It does say 20 million vested with an expiry date of 31/3/18 to 20/1/25. So some various managers and consultants are expiring.

rrr,

These options could not account for Fridays trade as that was done at 29.04p and options are done at the option price, none of which are 29.04p.

As previously stated, because of the size of the trade (106 m) it will almost certainly change the originators holding by more than 1% up or down. Any change which crosses 3% holding will trigger an RNS to state who has bought the shares, and another one to say who has sold them as their holding will be reduced.

Rules for disclosure start at 3% and require announcements every 1% above that figure, whether the holding is increased of decreased. 106m represents approx 2.3% so if it is a new buyer we won't necessarily know who he is but we will almost certainly know the seller.

Witching is when options or futures are coming to expiry and they are rolled. No options or other derivs to my knowledge expiring hence in my view unrelated to witching, triple or otherwise.

I am looking at the SXX website.....see link above.

Under Directors, we have:

Mr Thomas Staley, 1,543,472....Vested....Exercise price 29.2p......expiry date 20, Jan 2025.

nmrn. I think what’s happened is that I am looking on my phone and it has made all the columns out of sync. There are 38 million unexercused opinions. Yes you are correct about Staley. Sorry. But anyway. Could these options have accounted for the volume on Friday.

Me too. I think you are looking at the numbers BELOW Tom Staley which do not relate to him but to Management Consultants who have done work for the Company in the past and taken options, presumably, in lieu of payment.

NMRN. Where are you looking? I am looking on the Sirius mineral one website. Under shareholder information then scrolling down to options.

The options information is always, or supposed to always, be given in the notes to the accounts in the AR.
The last annual report, which was for 2016 didn't mention Staley because he wasn't a director of the holding company at that time, but he was mentioned in an RNS dated 1/12/16 as a PDMR with a holding of 3.1m options with an exercise price, adjusted down at the time of that RNS, of 29.2 pence. Half of those options expired 20/1/18. Also Chris Fraser had 10m options at the same price which expired 26/9/17 according to that RNS.

The AR doesn't say how many options are held by non directors, which seems to me to be a serious omission, but the options outstanding in the RNS total 19.14 million with the biggest batch, 10.3m @43.7 pence exercise price belonging to Fraser, expiring end September this year.

rrrRRRrrr2,

Just looked and there is no mention of Staley having 20m at any price. Only figures for Staley are the 1,543,472 I mentioned above at price of 29.2p.

Where are you getting your option data.

NMRN,

No one is saying that the late transaction on Friday was Staney converting his options.

The implication is......that the price will be ramped up tomorrow.......so that theoptions are in he money.

rrrRRRrrr2,

Would be grateful if you could state the source of your figures as mine are nowhere near yours.

I have Staley with 2 tranches of 1,543,472 shares, both with option prices of 29.2p and expiry dates of 20 Jan 18 and 20 Jan 25.

Keith Clarke, Lord John Hutton, Nicholas King and Simon Carter also have outstanding options but these together only total 7,305,768 at prices of 29.2p, or in the case of Simon Carter, 34p.

The price of Fridays transaction was 29.04p so if my figures are correct, and I think they are, then PPVN is quite right that it was nothing to do with options.
