Gbjbaanb - agreed. It's the bigger picture that's important and the technology could be a real force for good - should be easy enough to understand - it doesn't need much thinking about.

And if the plastic suddenly became slightly worth something, then all those rivers of plastic you see in se Asia wood be cleaned up in no time by scavenging kids looking to make a few pennies. There's the possibility exporting this tech would be beneficial in many ways.

OAP - I agree but the Welsh Gov is the problem and I have severe doubts as to whether they understand or even want to understand the opportunity they have. I've tried to develop industrial units in South Wales many years ago - there were too many hurdles put in my way to make it worthwhile and this was just after the coal mines were being closed!

OAP - I agree with you and in any event the carbon would be captured and stored. Far better than having mountains of plastic waste either in this country or exporting it oversees which is no way to deal with our own problem. We create the waste and must deal with it inside our own country. Great to have the technology to be able to dispose of our own plastic and we should make use of it.

Disagree. As a country we have a responsibility to dispose of our own rubbish. It is horrific that our gash is exported to 3rd world countries to end up in open land fill mountains. Time this was stopped. Uksmouth burning recycled fuel pellets circa 50% less carbon is far better than seeing children scavenging a living from land fill sites.

I agree entirely. There has been much said about the cost of tidal energy but it is clean predictable and reliable. We live in a crazy country where it is considered OK to spend fifty billion on disposable PPE but only ring fence twenty million for tidal energy. More money to Putin and other oil barons.

I think they should abandon their Power Station projects and concentrate fully on tidal generation.

Burning plastic is a crazy idea and will add to CO2 levels.

Tidal energy on the otherhand is fantastic.

I hope they don't think it's a good idea to offset carbon emissions against tidal production.

In the last issue of CFD regulations they did mention a section covering Biomass / fuel pellets , wonder if our management have looked into this area to see if it's a possibility for Uskmouth ?

SAE could be a FTSE 100 candidate with the right government backing. A SIPP buy and hold no-brainer for me.

Now the point is, in 2019 FY with 6MW capacity the thing generated £4.1M (at lower energy wholesale prices)
