Why would the O&G players invest in tidal which can offer baseload, when they get to sell their O&G at a premium when the wind drops.

Must say it has been very annoying to find the Welsh bunch putting a spanner in the works at Uskmouth , burning wood pellets / rubbish is no big deal on the co2 issues , just look at DRAX , shipping in millions of tons of wood pellets from Canada and at the same time receiving £ millions of subsidies from Richie and his bunch of mates.

Very true. The oil and gas lobby on the other hand is going from strength to strength, billions upon billions added to their coffers. Meanwhile the planet goes to hell in a handcart.

It's for a new 120MWh BESS installation to the north of the permitted 250MWh one. Pre qualifying document before full planning application is filed.

The planners might,but the Welsh gov is only interested in using glittery unicorn poop to generate electricity. Anything less is not green enough.

Barry Biomass is still going for planning after 8 years even though the gov is encouraging biomass developments.
