06/1/2022 13:37 | Few bits from Liberum from 4th Jan (raise TP from 125 to 130) SigmaRoc has acquired the Johnston Quarry Group for an initial consideration of £35.5m. The deal is immediately earnings enhancing and we raise our forecasts for 2022E and 2023E by 5%. Johnston produces aggregates, dimensional stone and lime in the south west. Its premium stone sustains excellent profitability. This deal shows the transformation after Nordkalk, with the group self-financing a large acquisition. The shares are cheap on 13x 2022E PER, compared to potential earnings growth of 19% if free cash flow is consistently reinvested. We raise our multiple and DCF based target price from 125p to 130p on the deal. SigmaRoc has established a track record of improving acquired assets, and we expect this to be extended with the acquisition of Johnston. Over and above improving production efficiency and material recovery, we believe there should be synergies with its other platforms.PPG has some customer overlap with Johnston’s dimensional stone assets. GD Harries and Johnston should be able to collaborate to better serve aggregates customers in the wider south west. The dimensional stone expertise in Carrières du Hainaut could be helpful for Johnston too. We argued that the Nordkalk deal in July would prove transformational for SigmaRoc as it diversified its revenues, by end market (away from construction) and geography, but also as it brought scale. We estimated that the enlarged group could spend around £78m on acquisitions and development projects each year and keep leverage below 2.0x (net debt/EBITDA).Johnsto | se81
05/1/2022 16:29 | Decent volume today as well. | wanttowin
05/1/2022 13:58 | With a 10% rise over the past 4 days we could be seeing some momentum developing to take the shareprice back over £1 again in the not to distant future. | masurenguy
04/1/2022 13:12 | The 3m share exchange about half an hour ago seems to have removed the overhang which provided a nice buying opportunity this morning. Now NT for anything more than 10k shares. Today's RNS was excellent, if they keep making earnings accretive acquisitions of this nature then they will continue to close the £1b valuation gap to Breedon group. A strong buy & hold IMO. | 74tom
04/1/2022 08:59 | Personally for me, this is a good re-entry point. The drop has levelled off and this acquisition looks very good for the future of Sigmaroc | hsduk101
04/1/2022 08:13 | Some of their quarries are quite local to me - and if site "tidiness" is an indicator, these look well run. Plus, Cotswold facing stone in quite a lot of demand for the local housing market as planners insist on it for anything in AONB and local conservation areas. | 18bt |
