You're right alter ego - they were geared up to partcipate in the retail offer thru Primary Bid. Unless you had looked at this thread between 18.00 and 20.00 last night you missed it. I certainly would have topped up if I'd had the chance.

Clearly lots of parties knew of this beforehand so a bit of share price manipulation isn't entirely unexpected.

Or instead of insider trading, many shares find resistance at big round numbers as share holders will often take profits at these levels.

P.s I just received an email from Primary Bid stating I got my full allocation of shares.

Proposed Acquisition of Nordkalk Oy Ab

Successful Placing of 305,882,352 new Ordinary Shares at 85p per share

SigmaRoc, the AIM quoted buy-and-build construction materials group, is pleased to announce that, further to its announcement of 15 July 2021 (the "Placing Announcement"), it has conditionally raised approximately £260m (before expenses) via the conditional issue of 305,882,352 new ordinary shares of £0.01 each in the capital of the Company (" Ordinary Shares ") at a price of 85p per share. As set out in the Placing Announcement, the gross proceeds from the Placing will be used, inter alia, to satisfy the EUR270m (approximately £231m) cash element of the total EUR470m Consideration due pursuant to the Acquisition of Nordkalk .

The Company is also pleased to announce that the Retail Offer has conditionally raised additional gross proceeds of approximately £1.6m at the Placing Price, via the subscription for, in aggregate, 1,880,301 new Ordinary Shares, which will be used for general working capital purposes.

Yeah, I suspect the primary bid subscriptions will be scaled back. Interesting acquisition and am impressed by the mgmt team so have applied for some but suspect I may miss out as not an existing holder.

For those interested in participating in the offer through primary bid, it closes tonight. I have just subscribed to hopefully double my current holding. Src is one of less than a handful of shares im intending to hold for the long term.
