Good call Markth. Fourth time trying to break through 732. We are either in for a massive fall or an equally massive rise. If you are still short powerbooks I wouldn't be in your shoes it could go either way.

I would have thought that having just distanced itself from BioChem, Shire would have steered clear of vaccines. Could be a red herring but who knows.

Anyone here know any more about this:
'Shire Pharmaceuticals rose 12p to 720p amid speculation it has an acquisition up its sleeve. Whispers suggest it could be Oxford BioMedica (½p dearer at 28½p) now that TroVax, its lead cancer vaccine, has been given a notice of allowance by the US Patent and Trademark Office.'

Good luck to you. Unless you are trying to second guess on a daily basis, always a dangerous strategy you will get your fingers and wallets burnt.
The share price was always going down today with profit taking on Friday's run but don't push it you shorters.

Ooops! I was going to write a crack yesterday but thought I'd wait. Egg as usual. As i have said though Shire will rise and fall with the general market but the prognosis is much higher.

ADDERALL XR(R) - Impax Files Suit Against Shire for Invalidity and Non-Infringement of US Patent No. 6,913,768

Shire Pharmaceuticals Group (LSE: SHP.L - news - msgs) plc (LSE: SHP, NASDAQ (NASDAQ: news) : SHPGY, TSX: SHQ) announces that its subsidiary Shire Laboratories Inc. has been notified that Impax Laboratories, Inc. ("Impax") has filed a declaratory judgment complaint against it in the District Court of Delaware. The lawsuit involves an ANDA (Abbreviated New Drug Application) filed by Impax seeking FDA approval to market and sell generic versions of Shire's 5 mg, 10 mg, 15 mg, 20 mg, 25 mg and 30 mg ADDERALL XR(R) products. Impax alleges in its complaint that Shire's US Patent No. 6,913,768 ("the '768 Patent") is invalid and not infringed by Impax. The '768 patent issued to Shire on July 5, 2005.

On October 20, 2005, Shire previously announced that it had filed a lawsuit in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York against both Barr Laboratories, Inc. ("Barr (LSE: BAG.L - news) ") and Impax for infringement of the same '768 Patent.

Shire also has separate pending patent litigations against Barr and Impax regarding US Patent Nos. 6,322,819 and 6,605,300, in New York and Delaware, respectively. ADDERALL XR(R) is Shire's leading Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ("ADHD") medicine.
