IV iron is problematic but it takes a huge amount of effort to convince payers and prescribers to change behaviour.

Have had a look at this, particularly interesting as a good friend of mine has huge problems with iv iron. Have dipped a toe in here earlier and will be adding more in due course.

Have a read of the above.
Basically an iron tablet to replace IV iron !
All other oral iron poorly tolerated , hence IV iron needed. But IV iron needs to be given in a hospital/clinic due to risk of anaphylaxis. So costly.
Shield have only tablet that can compare to IV iron

Finally decided to put my toe in the water here; just a small initial stake, in spite of the terrible spread, which I could not be bothered to wait any longer for it to narrow :)

Such a volatile share too , as only a relative small % in PI hands. Large amounts held in safe hands.
Small sells causing such drops emphasises how quickly this will rise following US/H2H news

Some very impatient investors here. I really can't understand why anyone who understands what is happening with STX would choose to sell now. Each to their own but not long to wait now.....hopefully!

Yes ridiculously undervalued but it is all about sentiment. That will change even with a half decent US deal IMHO....

Good find Peachies.

Don't think anyone can dispute the benefits and cost effectiveness of Feraccru however we need a sniff of the US deal to get this moving.

So hopefully 'safe pair of hands' new CEO can get this sorted this summer, as he has indicated.

We were £1.80 in Jan, in anticipation of an US deal - and that was before the Chinese deal was confirmed, so £2 plus is very achievable.

This share shows how important sentiment is. It will improve - hopefully!!

Keep the faith

From above .....

Dr. Stefanie Howaldt from the Hamburg Research Institute for IBD, HaFCED e.K., Germany presented the new research findings at ECCO and commented, "Iron deficiency anaemia is very common in inflammatory bowel disease and can significantly impair the quality of life of patients. Due to very common intolerance to standard oral iron products, IV iron is currently the main treatment alternative for IBD patients with IDA. These new data demonstrate that ferric maltol is not only a well-tolerated and effective therapy, which we previously knew, but also a cost-saving treatment for the healthcare system, representing an alternative oral treatment option with substantial health-related quality of life benefit for IBD patients with IDA.''

at current share price even a very conservative £1.50 share price after an US deal would result in a c65% uplift - the risk v reward is very compelling at the moment. If it's over £2 as has previously been estimated you have an immediate bagger.

AGM is on 18th June so it will be interesting to see the statement re US deal. Clearly if negotiations are ongoing no price sensitive info can be disclosed but the tone of the comment will be on interest.
I am hoping that CEO uses words such as positive and constructive etc. I am also hoping he confirms current timeline which is summer 2020 and not H2 2020.

At recent presentation in answer to the question re the possibility of an US deal - CEO stated 'High'. That's good enough for me.

I'm in a lot here also. However, keep seeing it drop, so go in again! Not much left for SNG, but my other big play is gold, and I'm medium to long on that. I still think these might get taken out. When Tim said they only had 16 employees, it made me think even more so - just imho...

I will be buying more via a T+20 at some point next week. Still wary of sell offs on the broader market but I guess no doubt that the low 90s will be seen as a good price if and when we get a US licensing deal.

There just needs something to kickstart the share. The US deal is the obvious one. But reshuffling of the H2H and reproducing and illustrating all the positive outcomes within the trial will also help.
This was double the price it is now after FDA approval. And we now have ASK deal tied up , so the price now beggars belief in a comparative sense.
Shares go in and out of ‘vogue’. Shields time will come IMHO.

Nice read, cheers peachie. Probably more now! Bearing all these factors in mind, have you any thoughts as to why nobody seems that interested in getting involved? I was hoping to see some forward momentum with a deal coming anytime soon. However, all we get is a slow drop back to previous lows.

Just a little example (not recent I appreciate ) of the cost savings of Feraccru v IV.
