I'm wondering when it comes to climate change, the real people in power and control are more worried about Global Cooling and not Global Warming???

Last night I happened to be looking at my local airports hourly temperatures since 1974 and something stood out like a sore thumb.

All years since 1974 (except for lock down 2020), the second half of Spring has just 1 or 2 days, during day light hours in the Temperature Comfortable range and the odd hour here and there, all the other days and hours are in the lower Cool temperature range.

However...the last 5 weeks of the 6 week first lock down during 2020 the second half of Spring when there was very little human activity, all day light hours were in the Comfortable temperature range while 80% of the night time hours were also in this range. I remember how sunny the time was and how my next door neighbour at 17.00 would sit out side in the sun for a couple of hours enjoying a glass of wine or two with his wife, has not been able to do so since or before.

Since 1989 at my local airport the lowest nightly temperature in each of the years has ranged between 0C and -3C (0C in 2020 the lock down year & -3C in 2022 the other years being -1C or -2C) The highest temperature recorded since 1974 at the airport was in 1983 followed by 2023, then 2003.

I can remember in the late 1970's and up to the mid 1980's all the talk was about, is the next ice age coming and looking back at documentaries this goes back to the early 1960's. Then suddenly Al Gore came a long and said it's all about global Warming and "I endorse this message," which by the way he's made many hundreds of millions of dollars out of.

Perhaps May 2 will bring good news. In the meantime perhaps Britain can celebrate success rather than resent it. However the announcement of profits will no doubt have the sheep bleating and calling for blood. Roll on America. TV licence free for 15 years. I hate British media.

29 :) I don't see the case in selling Shell. Possible move to the US, multiple conflicts around the world, improving div, producing a product that we need, profitable and just look at that 3 year chart. 30 next. Good weekend to all.

The boss of Aston Martin has branded a net zero ban on petrol cars "premature" as global demand founders for electric vehicles (EVs).Lawrence Stroll, the Canadian billionaire owner of the luxury British marque, claimed the push towards EVs was currently supported more by "hype" than real consumer demand. Many buyers are simply not interested in buying battery-powered cars despite government incentives, he said, with a lack of charging infrastructure partly to blame. His comments came as new figures showed record numbers of rapid EV chargers were deployed in the UK last month, but carmakers including Volkswagen and Mercedes warned of an electric car sales slowdown in Europe....Daily Telegraph

Well talk of listing elsewhere, higher oil and continual buybacks probably overrules any chart patterns.

Not wanting to be a doom merchant but look at the 3 year chart and the share price is right at the very top of the up channel.

The US are wealth creators - over 60% of individuals own shares and most have 401k's. They understand that a thriving Stock Market is a key to Wealth and the Public are in there. Property is pushed at every level in the UK making it unaffordable for most people and other investments are ignored. If they lose a Company like Shell it may cause an Avalanche of others that don't need to be here.
They really are playing with Fire.

The Government seems to be blind as to what is happening. The UK Stockmarket is at least 30% undervalued, if the valuations were nearer US and EU one's this would add over a Trillion Pounds to it's value creating wealth for Pensioners and Shareholders as well as making it less easy for cheap takeovers, plus all the knock on benefits and growth for the UK.
It's a Win Win Win situation to have a healthy Stock Market.

A UK ISA and maybe a Nat West IPO is not really gonna cut it tbh. They need to do something significant to stop the rot.
