03/4/2024 06:20 | Last year they announced on Feb 27th the updated resources and resources based on their 22 drilling. This year the work is still in progress end of March. Does not pass the sniff test to me. | paduardo
02/4/2024 15:49 | I have reduced now to what i'm comfortable with.I expect the bid to fail with a buying opportunity here. | redhill

02/4/2024 13:49 | MF, a well run Shanta is definitely worth 20p+ and, at current pog, probably 25p+ Absent the bid, I think we would probably have seen the share price rise to over its current level and be on an upward trajectory. If the bid fails and the current BOD are replaced with competent individuals, we can reasonably expect these price targets to come into focus. I remain convinced Shanta is a good long-term investment. I'm sure this is why we are all opposed to the bid and want it to fail. IMV, any weakness in the share price following a failed bid would be akin to riding out the Odey storm. Something unavoidable causing price weakness but doesn't change the fundamentals of the business. The only caveat is a need to replace the current Board with competent individuals. If the bid fails, I will not be looking to immediately build my holding back up to previous levels. I will wait for the replacement Board and try to avoid what I believe will be a volatile period. | lowtrawler
02/4/2024 13:47 | Afawk there is no other suitor and hedge funds cannot find what does not exist. 14 weeks is more than enough time for a second bidder to table an offer at 16.5p or higher. If the bid falls through there will be a lot of uncertainty about what happens next and when incl the removal of Zurin as CEO and a clear out of the Directors with replacements to be found which will take months. SHG will be under a cloud for quite some time regardless of the gold price .... | stevea171
02/4/2024 13:16 | You are all of course entitled to your opinion but your opinion is just that an opinion. No one knows what the future has in store other than we will get stolen or we will not. In my opinion the company should be in profit by now unless further shenanigans and is still worth a punt. Just my opinion of course and not fact. In my opinion fair value is 20p+. | michaelfenton
02/4/2024 13:09 | I have changed my views I thought the Hedgies would exit quickly if the bid fails With the current ( and future ) pog I now think they will be inclined to hang on and get together to find another suitor Current price seems to indicate the bid is doomed | phillis
02/4/2024 12:41 | I would suggest the result is on a knife edge. There is no clear indication from trading on the likely outcome. I retain my view that, despite the rise in pog, a failed bid will cause the share price to fall. How far and for how long, I don't know. If Shanta had not been subject to the bid, I'm pretty sure we would be trading at or above current levels and so it's possible the immediate price impact will be limited but changing our BOD is bound to have an impact. Also, many short term holders have bought in for a successful bid and will likely exit messily. | lowtrawler
02/4/2024 12:40 | It's not that simple. If the bid falls through there may be more sellers (hedge funds) than buyers. | stevea171
02/4/2024 11:58 | Just bought a chunk at 14.175 on the basis that the gold price strength further underpins the business if the bid falls through If the bid succeeds then a small return is assured | phillis
02/4/2024 11:36 | If it doesn't go through it tanks anyway, as everyone will then assume something wrong All over | vlad the impaler
02/4/2024 11:35 | Mugging confirmed today? | vlad the impaler
02/4/2024 11:34 | Off you go again Source It’s simply one of the conditions of the offer which has now been fulfilled Purely routine | phillis
02/4/2024 11:32 | Even the Market makers are unsure. Not keen to take on much stock at the moment. | redhill
02/4/2024 09:35 | Gold up another $30 since Thursday and this drops, doesn't sound right. What's it take $2,3 or 2,500 to get this moving north. | cinoib
31/3/2024 08:49 | Yep.suggests that the company is undervalued but the bid might go through anyway. | robsy2
31/3/2024 08:47 | Why would someone tick that post down? It is just a fact, not an opinion. | arlington chetwynd talbott
