I found that interview today very informative and Eric seemed to be giving a few clues to what's going on behind the scenes and i'm wondering if anyone else is thinking the same.

It seems like the refund of our VAT is linked to the Barrick Gold settlement and the fact that EZ has the dates of future meetings is significant.

Also when asked about the share price he said that he had received enquiries from abroad which could lead to a possible take over if the London Market doesn't value the Company higher.

Simple assessment = will not have the funds to complete the underground mine.
Will be technically insolvent by the end of this year.

Will be bust by June 2018 - unless the Tanzanian Govt make a full 100% reverse of their stated actions.

==============================

Great Analysis...

"For a mine like SHG - D&A runs at about $30m per year.
So, over the long term, CAPEX must also run at this level to sustain production."

Why MUST it?

You keep making the same fundamental error time and time again. It's why you predicted a "true AISC" of $1,500+ when UG mine ops commenced, thereby predicting debt would increase leading you to forecast a 100% likelihood (your words) of a placing for reasons of actual insolvency. It never happened, even after you continued to repeat a placing was imminent ad infinitum. Wrong time and time again.

In fact since Net Debt peaked at end of Q3 2017, it is now down by USD 14m since.

What you fail to understand is that the USD 120M Capex over 2015-2017 has substantial one-time Capex costs (the power plant alone was USD 16M with a 20yr design life). To extend Life of Mine at New Luika and develop very promising satellite sites to feed the mine, of course additional Capex is needed, but not to the same extent and so your USD 30M is way off.

The design life of the long-term one-time assets are circa 15yrs+ (New Luika Dam is 50yrs), yet the current D&A calcs of course has to be based on the 7yr mine plan.

When the mine life is extended, the Accountants will be required to recalculate and update the D&A calculations accordingly.

At least we can all agree with your final statement that your analysis is not perfect and you predicted an increase in Net Debt and actual insolvency of SHG when spot gold was at a higher gold price. How wrong could you be.

Market capitalisation less than cash flow is quite a statement and great to hear that Q1 is continuing where Q4 left off. A note of caution - it is unlikely that this rate of production will continue all year. They are clearly going for grade currently to ensure that the loan repayments are more than covered. I would expect a lower grade mix for the rest of the year.

Note for AG - cash flow doesn't include depreciation.
