Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see

T'was grace that taught my heart to feel
And grace, my fears relieved
How precious dear that grace appeared
The hour I first believed

Through many dangers, toils and snares
We have already come
T'was grace that brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home

T'was grace that brought us safe thus far
And grace will lead us home

Talking of debt v market cap take a look at DEB , debt 1800m v 201m MC , think its very harsh to judge a good company on its mc v debt.

we all know many cos. are way undervalued, SKS IMO is one of them.

edit: or PFD,or TW.

debt 1.25x Market cap is not huge given comparisons to say the housebuilders, where you have debt 30x m.c. SKS debt is servicable, and going forward are in a strong financial position. The downside I see is from their Belgium operatio n and with the toxic waste levys proposed europe wide.

Its a long shot but Obama has signalled this weekend a fiscal stimulus of government spending on infrastructure investment. This is partly investment in 'projects to clean up the environment' and would certainly include waste iniaitives. Gordon Brown has already suggested a similar approach. What price that utilities rise on this news? More scope for pfi throughout the downturn.
Like I say a long shot.

The problem is the debt £270m against market cap of 208m - with half of the stated debt shares would probably be around £2. Just to come out square at this price a bidder would have to assume the debt effectively paying £600m if you include the PFI business for the whole company which is in excess of its breakup value.

So it all swings on the tolerance of their lenders.

Beware tips from the Mail which tipped Albidon a few weeks go with a load of debt the SP
and has recently collapsed to 5p.

Highly leveraged companies are being slaughtered eg RIO PFD KMR the list is very long.

wig123 - sorry, I'm pretty primitive technology wise. All I can tell you it's on page 65 of the Mail On Sunday in it's regular Midas column. There may be some here who can oblige for you.

Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire Councils have been granted £138million PFI grants for a joint scheme to divert biodegradable waste from landfill. Invitation to bidders to be posted shortly. Shanks have high visibility in the area and I think they will be keen to bid.
