Investors decide that where there's muck, there's brass (Biffa, Shanks):

Goldman Sachs puts this one on its conviction buy list with a price target of 324p. Broker says: 'Possible consolidation involving Shanks (as an acquirer or a target) could crystallise potential operational synergies and support a valuation of 340p, assuming again all estimated synergies are paid out by a buyer.'

I estimate that the share price should reach 295p before the prelim. result on 31 May. I'd like to hear other people's opinion on this.

I see that ML have graded it as neutral... Whatever the recommendations, I think SKS should reach the 300p mark before its next prelim. results on 31 May.

I think the share price has found support at 270. With the next RNS, it will break the 300p barrier.

Shanks, which alongside peer Biffa PLC is seen as one of few remaining takeover targets in a UK waste management sector with continued bid speculation, said its two acquisitions in the year were progressing to plan.

The sector sentiment as a whole driving the Shanks price up at present. The graphs of Biffa & Shanks are almost identical. People think that this share can go to a high of 500p on back of fundamentals.

Landfill Tax escalator up from £3 per tonne to £8. A good budget for Shanks.
