I think the difference is that you believe what you are told and I never have.

Give me a scientific dispute, rather than a baseless, subjective one stemmed in conspiracy FB and we can happily debate it. Until then I'll consider your views to be completely and comprehensively uninformed on the entire matter. Climate change deniers are up there with flat-earthers these days; there's really no excuse.

Spandy where do you get this 97% figure from?
Was there a poll or vote I missed or was this the "dog and fox" pub law poll you are referring to?

Nothing is indisputable, but assertions are usually more convincing if they are supported by least some robust scientific evidence.

But that's the problem. We maintain it's not indisputable.

Hi Pineapple; not a lefty; never voted labour, or green for that matter. Not that it really matters. Also not "woke"... just educated and scientifically minded. Differences of opinion, I can tolerate; denial of indisputable evidence and scientific consensus I cannot.

Spandy......i'd hazard a guess that you are a "woke" leftie as i am an ignorant denier.

The one environmental crusade i could get behind is the cleaning up of the oceans where lots of garbage ,and effluent is dumped by other countries.. Climate change. Nah .....not man-made

And just because we don't agree with you means we're wrong? There's a lot goes on this world we never get to hear about you know. Right now I should say that 90% of developed coastal land is the most valuable in this world. This land is owned by the very rich. They don't want this land to disappear under water where it'll be worth nothing. Climate emergency = sea level change. So the super rich fund the research that results in us driving around in pedal cars. Not my fault if you can't see it.

Fardel.....exactly.
If you follow the money you generally see the so called indisputable science bought and paid for by organisations with a direct or indirect financial links to ensuring the scientists find the proof that's needed and that climate change is accepted. Any science with a different view is defunded and silenced.I could understand the movement if the world had not experienced both radical rising and falling temperatures historically in the past. Climate has always changed. Its the weather FFS.

I admire how the promoters of this fraud have manged to influence so many people globally that they must take certain types of action now to ensure the survival of the world. I link a lot of this to the popularity of social media where emoji likes and virtue signalling are a currency that makes people feel good about themselves. Nothing better than being a climate change believer to get you the popularity you yearn for. Social media was likely one of the tools designed expressly to assist TPTB with the various types of brain washing that they employ with the masses and non critical thinkers.
There's one born every minute.

OMG I guess I shouldn't expect much else from a fossil fuel investment board. As you'll all know I've held here; but at least I've done so with my eyes open.Where do you get this view FB, that more papers have been funded to prove climate change but not disprove it? I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess you're not a scientist. Scientific process is about both proving and disproving theories. These papers are not funded with an outcome in mind; the research is funded and the consensus of all that research is that humans are having a substantial influence on climate change. 97% of the entire worlds climate scientists; through their own research, have proven theories that support that view. But you numpties dismiss it as a populist view! It's mind blowing my ignorant. Just because you don't get it doesn't mean it's wrong. It means you're wrong.

I'm curious how much you've actually read into it pineapple? Or is this just a view you've formed because it suits you? This is not a case of belief; that's why I carefully chose the phrase scientific fact. The scientific method necessitates proof; and has adjusted its view over time based on evidence observed. Human influence on climate change is now in indisputable fact territory. The ignorance of you and those that stand beside you, will be the end of us. So thanks for that.

Nor am I, piney. Not a popular position to hold but do you remember at the start of SPECTRE there's old JB doing his Topolino bit and escaping the clutches of the baddy. This all feels like the baddies got him.

I'm curious what evidence you may have to support your view that many of the world's leading scientists are wrong.

But everyone is entitled to their own view.

Spandy....well i m not ashamed one little bit so you can stop moralising and virtue signalling . If you want to believe this propaganda about humans having a major impact on climate change then you go ahead.
I,m in no way convinced by it at all.

You should be ashamed of yourself. Our children and their children will have to live with the consequences of previous generations neglect. Some was out of ignorance; but continuing in this way in light of scientific fact telling us otherwise is called wilful ignorance; which is hideously selfish given the consequences. It's embarrassing that it takes a 16 year old Nordic to raise awareness; but I'm pleased she's taken that challenge on.

Pine I felt the same way but recently have since completely changed my opinion and am full of admiration for what the teenager has been achieving.

As a fifty something fella who is pretty set in his ways thats something that doesn't happen very often.
