I suppose he has to try and put a positive spin on it but i do actually agree with what he says.

Really need to hope all is resolved within the two month time frame. Hopefully within 7 weeks to get a nice jump before March SB roll overs.

Good luck bounty. What line of work are you in, if it's ok to ask on a bulletin board that is?

Cheers marvel, I should finally find out whether I still have a job or not sometime soon! Still working long hours to try to improve my chances. There's not a lot else I can do about the situation right now.

I have read your posts for many a year now Bounty so whatever, keep your hand in no matter what. Anyway, if the worst does happen you sound too savvy a bloke to be out of work for long. Regards and best wishes.

Thanks dunders, I'm still in RRE, back at around £20 recently, gulp! ;-)
Significantly still in cash right now though.

At least we now know why it dropped 20p the other day on no news. Still holding. Not sold any.

Agreed this is surprisingly resilient - the opportunity to top up at c110p didn't last long. It will be important they can fix it in approx. two months and hope it doesn't impact their dividend thinking

Damn I was hoping for a sub £1 top up...surprising resilience I wonder how long it will last...

The Divi better be decent if they want to both attract new investors and encourage long term holding.

I'm quite impressed with the resilience. There were days where the reaction would have been much more significant.

No impact on gas prices considering 5% of supply to the UK is now offline. Front contract down 2.5%

It read to me that they halted production until they could design a plan safely to restart production safely while the work was undertaken. Not quite the same thing. Letter to IOC: you don't want to hang on to this POS. Well take it off your hands for a small and necessarily deferred consideration.

Some light reading while you hear the usual doom-merchants tell you there's no way back from this and you need to dump your stock...

Massive market overreaction to RNS - nearly every platform built until the 2000's will have integrity issues related to their seawater caissons. Lomond & North Everest both cases in point - both still producing and making money. Company doing the right thing and ceasing production while the work is undertaken. Non-story but easy top-up territory considering you know where this is going in April.

More common a problem than most would realise on these old platforms. Nowadays dropped object risk on to the pipelines is the main concern which dictates the level of response. This gives a pretty good overview on caisson problems and restoration. Although in this case given it was removed from being part of the process in 2009, it will not be replaced and will 'simply' be removed from the platform.hTtps://gmcdeepwater.com/caisson-replacements/
