The momentary calm does not imply the storm has passed. Indeed it is there as nature intended, for the wise to prepare. Unfortunately it is following in our footsteps and soon will present itself and chaos will ensue.

Presumably without the RNS the drop would have been more significant.

The markets aren't daft it seems. Big oil players smashed down by an average of 20% - Serica down a meagre 7% by comparison.

80% Gas price exposure might have been what held us back the last 2 years but it's clear that we're in a better position for it going forward.

Be interesting to see what happens between now and April. I wonder if Serica will buck the trend and set itself apart.

Maybe, maybe not, but I think you'd struggle to find anyone who predicted the current situation with any accuracy

Do you think that some of us just buy shares randomly?

The once in a hundred year storm presents itself, the savage seas causing chaos amongst the many ships that have set sail. Some will flounder whereas for others, this will embolden them to venture beyond. Set sail too early and you will be one of the casualties. Pick your moment carefully, setting off with plenty in reserve will make the journey that much more bearable. As the calm returns the chill wind is nowhere to be seen

Not for me mate - not sold anything since de-risking my stake in 2017 - I topped up at 109 & 97 this month already.

More for the people who cashed in at 140 - there were plenty who did.

A re-entry? Does that mean...?

Good point pineapple, it's certainly not worth what it was at the point of agreement. I can't imagine them going through with it in the current environment.

Absolute bloodbath today - somewhat bemusing that positive RNS has been met with such a big drop, but I realise it's par for the course with how the OPEC+ cabal have fallen out.

I don't think Sericas balance sheet will struggle as badly as the drop in share price contends - once the dust settles they will still be a very profitable company with a divi in the offing and production share up to 60% from last year's 50%.

It may be that a buying opportunity arises this year off the back of low oil, but I trust the board to deliver the right deal, not just any old tat.

Massive opportunity for re-entry in my opinion - a COVID-19 vaccination won't reverse the losses of the wider market overnight but it's the next event to watch out for.

That's my thinking as well Joe noone is going to want to touch financing shale production in the future billions will have been lost.

Not looking good for the US shale oilers the RussiAns and Saudi's must be hoping to put a few out of business. Double whammy for them less US oil and also stops the cheap gas that's produced as a by product flooding the market depressing gas prices.

Just looked in at my portfolio, jeez! Now going for a bike ride and probably won't be looking back in today. Once the dust settles a bit I'll be buying more of these and other oilers, can't believe oil will be this cheap again.
