Having comparable holdings (number of shares) in both SQZ and HUR I personally see SQZ as the more secure option (it’s a no brainer of an investment if there is such a thing) but currently there is more potential with HUR.

MR SMC re HUR #14740

>>I was trying to say they are not producing nor do they have infrastructure!

Wrong! HUR are producing at 14k bopd from Lancaster which will be increasing to 20k bopd soon and this is just the EPS for one of their fields.

Another well at Lincoln has just been DST'd at 9k bopd and reserves are extensive.

Production from the EPS will be stepped up to 30k bopd before too long and that is just the start.

I didn't say they were producing!!I was trying to say they are not producing nor do they have infrastructure! However we are producing and have infrastructure!Reserves may be one thing but producing assets in my eyes are better!

Dunderhead the Coho 1 well that came in this week had the same a 95% chance of success. The primary hydrocarbon target zones are proven and have been flowed and on trend with other producing fields in the area secondary horizons are exploration.

In 50's and 60's there was no interest in gas in T&T it was all oil and with prices low and not much infrastructure some of these discoveries were just plugged and abandoned.

Its been commented that you could think of these exploration wells as development wells the risk is in the technicalities of drilling the hole correctly rather than if the hydrocarbons are present. The new wells are twinning of 50's and 60's discoveries using modern seismic.

Its an interesting little company I really like the CEO Paul Bray who reminds me of TCW and has a solid track record in building up E&P companies.

I hold a £50k position.

Edit its nice to have a bit of excitement in the portfolio ;-)

Sorry for off topic back to SQZ

CFC exploration well with 95% chance of commercial success. Madness mate! Sounds too good to be true? IMHO.
Not saying it will not be a commercial success but not with that kind of probability!!

the abbot I know that feeling one of my other holdings Touchstone Exploration (TXP) had a positive exploration well report this week that looks like it going to add 50% to the companies production the share price climbed about 10% but has now dropped back.

The companies market cap is only circa £30 M with production circa 1900 bopd the new discovery is gas should add 1000boepd. (Gas production is not subject to the supplementary production tax like oil)

Their next exploration well Cascadura-1 is due to spud shortly and take about 30 days with a 95% chance of commercial success!

The well is targeting multiple stacked targets in known hydrocarbon bearing formations. Using modern seismic and re-interpretation of well logs from the 50's that were discoveries but had technical problems or intersected the reservoirs in poor locations and or missed prospective zones.

That's obvious really but as Joe Stalin said the interest is whether Sell or Buy is driving the transaction. Have you not heard the term Sellers or Buyers market in relation to house purchasing, as it's a similar concept?

As a relative newbie at this I don't feel qualified to explain in more detail but you seem to have a bee in your bonnet about this so it's probably not worth doing so anyway. There have been times when I thought you've been given a rough ride on this BB but not this time.

It's hardly pedantic - people continually bleating on about buys and sells when they are always both is just absolute junk.

Yes it is. I think that he is wondering whether the transaction was initiated by a desire to buy, or a desire to sell.

Don't see how it matters? Someone was happy to buy, another party happy to sell - done deal. What's the relevance?

I wonder if the 427,241 @ 116.5 was a buy rather than a sell.

It's both - I don't know how many times I have to say this.
