I use Sharecentre. I have used Selftrade and Hargreaves in the past though if you're residing in Australia you'll surely need an Australian broker who can trade UK stocks...

Yes, SEE's partnership with NTI could become a real money-spinner. If DMS becomes mandated (EU is already nailed on but we need the US, Aus and Asia. I think China has DMS mandated) across trucks and cars then SEE will become a very valuable company, in time

If truckers won't accept DMS into their cabs voluntarily then I suspect the State will mandate and imposed it upon them in the name of public safety

Redeye's Viktor has also released his take on the latest SEYE update: -'The operating loss in Q2 came in as expected at SEK -25m as the costs related to delivery on the big contracts increased during the quarter. Smart Eye says this was according to plan. Sales of SEK 12m was slighly lower than our estimated SEK 14m, but this is solely related to business area Research Instruments. Automotive Solutions grew 47% y/y, to SEK 7m, which is due to license revenue growing slightly faster than the company's expectations. The cash at the end of the period, SEK 227m, seems sufficient for two more years with the current burn rate. However, sales from the program awards will of course also kick in before then. Furthermore, Smart Eye made a good point in the report in relation to the shaky car industry at the moment. Smart Eye's market, on the other hand, is "on the rise thanks to a strong global trend fueled by regulatory initiatives". This comment was directed towards the China market, but we believe the same reasoning can be applied to the other markets as well.Shares are news driven and are consequently trading down (-3%) as there are not much news in the report. We do not detect any specific fundamental changes of larger magnitude from the report that should cause any changes in our valuation. Our upcoming update will rather be based on insights related to the market for driver monitoring.

Smart Eye announced Interims today.Improved but still very low turnover although currently well funded (following their recent fundraise) & CEO very optimistic about their outlook & still referring to being in 2 BMW models.Their share price has outperformed ours substantially over the last 12 months(although has slipped from its recent highs ) but I am hoping that trend will reverse over the next 12 months over which time our share price will double 9 or more)

Regulators are going to struggle to get to Vision Zero if car makers don't install Distraction monitoring tech in cars likely to be driven by the most distracted and vulnerable groups imo.

DMS as standard is my expectation as the mass market develops over a matter of years.

Not many can afford a CT6.

Have a look at the current Ford models, even the Fiesta has Active Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keeping Aid, Traffic Sign Recognition, but step down to the basic Ka and its has none of these. If there is a budget version of DMS (and not forgetting it will be compulsory to have in EU) they will install SE instead - I am just giving Ford as a quick example, I know they have signed with SEE.

Didn't some manufacturers (country dependent) use lap belts after seat belts were made compulsory - even though the more expensive (Volvo) 3 point belt was available (cost).

Ultimately the 3 point belt became law in most countries.

I'm not convinced that you would have a poorer performing system in the cheaper models going forward as mass market economies of scale grow. That only complicates issues which at a low price point per box lacks safety branding continuity which as we have seen with GM is valuable.

Did they do that with seatbelts once they were made a legal requirement?

You know the lowest value models in a fleet. Anyway

Volvo is not a big deal, just would be nice if SEE won it from SE. Highly likely that one of the top safety cars goes with the most reliable system …. if the rumours are true.

Far more important will be a Honda or Toyota win (or both)

I have said it before and I'll repeat that at the budget models I think Smarteye will get traction in a lot of the main manufacturers, just the likes of the Germans and Americans are likely to go for the best option only.

I'm not worrying, the opposite in fact.. I'm confident SEE will win Volvo.

Why worry about Volvo, plenty of other companies, and already shed loads of revenue. ....and eye-tracking isn't about to go away

Personally if I had doubts about SEE securing Volvo I would not be holding.

The reputational significance of SEYE winning Volvo has the potential to dent confidence considerably in SEE having a clear technical lead, which I think most commentators believe to be the case.

Good luck

Perhaps Volvo can change their mind, but I think it's unlikely unless they're all one big family? I'm holding shares through the results, hopefully no dramas

Kreature,

People can change their minds on many things as I'm sure you appreciate.

If memory serves me right which it does not always do (so my apologies in advance if I'm barking up the wrong tree) I recall that you believed infrared eye monitoring was going to be superseded. Did you ever find the company that you thought were going break through with this alternative technology?

So if your in the same city you have to do business with the company within walking distance even if their tech is inferior. Yes, makes perfect sense. Thanks man got it. Why didn't anyone think of that before. Damn.
