tesla made some recovery after retreating to about $320 I think ! no wonder SMT outperforms ATT and PCT although good trades to be made there too with CFDs .

just noticed that sterling has dropped much less in % terms than nasdaq 100 has . Anyone on theory about why SMT has not fallen today ?

holds up well even though nasdaq index down about 2% from UK close on thursday ! partly the weaker pound of course and pound likely to keep falling as NO DEAL now probable sadly but good for those holding SMT.

It is compelling to compare the the 31st January 2020 valuations with the 31st. July valuations.

Not easy to buy shares in this company. A fascinating roster of major shareholders.

Maybe the premium to NAV is not at all unjustified.

Scottish Mortgage selling Tesla at the absolute peak market share price before the massive fall.

And there's no link.........just two completely freak coincidental events.

interesting that TSLA at $330 is back to chart support level although could dip further to about $300. nasdaq futures rising and turnaround day for TSLA if nasdaq index does not plunge further . SMT is a good trading stock using CFD of course as no SD !

Madfist the timing was absolutely brilliant , if completely fortuitous, having been rather forced on James by BG's internal rules on stock concentration. Did I read that ScoMo banked £17m in cash last week in this exercise?As the percentage of TSLA in the portfolio has now fallen further on yesterday's record share price drop, taken our holding well below BG's limits, it would not surprise me to see the team dribbling cash back into TSLA in the coming days

but I think nasdaq futures is now about 400 points below the level at USA close on friday and presumably the NAV quoted today was almost same as the previous day means it was still based on physical market close on friday ? will be interesting to see how things develop after 2.30pm !

short term effect is of course relevant to long term holders as surely better to sell and buy back at a lower level as that cuts your holding cost . If you can not see that I can not help you . Even using a CFD to short the stock as a kind of hedge is sometimes a good strategy .

nasdaq futures starting to climb but SMT not reacting yet and indeed still slipping which is strange . It can suddenly take off which makes it a good trading stock.

in short term but not if you are thinking medium or long term . Nasdaq futures starting to recover a bit but quite tentative
