07/9/2020 13:34 | childish comment pigfilth and you seem unable to realise that if you leave a club you can not continue to enjoy the same benefits as the members of that club . Ever ask yourself why only UK . or really England , is only country leaving ?? a nice double whammy for SMT holders would be a NO DEAL and nasdaq just holding up as pound will tumble. | arja
07/9/2020 12:31 | cum fair NAV I saw which is the lower figure . Certainly rocketed today but maybe some profit taking later . nasdaq recovering a bit | arja
07/9/2020 12:08 | @arja...940.18 | davvero
07/9/2020 11:48 | Hope a few others caught that buying opportunity on Friday. | scrabster1
07/9/2020 11:01 | lets hope the UK walks away from those EU bullies | pigfilth1899
07/9/2020 10:13 | just noticed it was 11.56am on friday . | arja
07/9/2020 10:01 | any idea what time it is announced on ADVFN please ? | arja
07/9/2020 09:33 | US markets shut today , be interested to see the NAV | noiseboy
07/9/2020 09:03 | if brexit talks collapse as seems likely, the pound will be really hit and SMT will benefit even if nasdaq does nothing . Interesting times ! | arja
07/9/2020 08:52 | thanks Spangle but it is not that clear to me . amazing move by SMT today as nasdaq not yet moving much higher and tempted to sell if it hits 890 as should be able to re-enter lower later today or tomorrow . But expect the unexpected in markets I guess | arja
07/9/2020 08:26 | Henchard - in the final report to end March 2020 it states "The fair valuation pricing policy for these assets is detailed elsewhere in this report and on the Company's website. The disciplined application of our valuation policy means that the prices of these assets will also be impacted during turbulent times in public markets. We saw this most clearly towards the end of the Company's financial year in March. However, this policy does also ensure that the published net asset values for Scottish Mortgage remain reflective of the prices we would likely be paid at that point for all of the assets in the portfolio, allowing shareholders to make informed investment choices. | spangle93
07/9/2020 08:06 | I overlooked the stronger $US and it has helped it to a bright start | arja
07/9/2020 07:44 | I would have thought the daily values for the unlisteds likely to be changed daily and not when writedowns occur but who knows ! | arja
07/9/2020 07:41 | steeplejack- I agree that it should be just a correction but expect another sell off soon to about 10970 chart support . henchard- I was always concerned about how they value the UNLISTED investments and presumably not in a conservative way . However , over time SMT has incressed in value%wise as much as PCT and ATT I notice . likely to open flat today as nasdaq at almost same level as it was at 16.35pm on friday | arja
06/9/2020 23:42 | Interesting situation. How often are SMT's unlisted holdings revalued? If the tech sector crashes, presumably their value - much of which is gauged against listed comparators? - will have to be written down, but won't appear in the daily NAV until the writedowns actually occur. | henchard
06/9/2020 21:01 | SMT reduced their interest in Tesla because it had been so successful that it breached the funds % holding guidelines.Fortuitou | steeplejack
06/9/2020 16:30 | but Tesla is off about 20% from high point and this type of stock often has an share price based on sky high potential and I think there is no competition at present | arja
06/9/2020 11:24 | It will be interesting to see if 950p was the cyclical top before the US disruptor bubble bursts or whether there is another blast upwards to come. Valuation of Tesla is clearly quite stupid. | topvest
06/9/2020 10:56 | problem with NTA with this Trusr as there are unlisted investments and they may have inflated value put on them . but you should be in profit on monday scrabster1 as nasdaq index finished 170 points higher than at 16.35pm UK time on friday. US markets closed om monday of course but I think nasdaq futures will still be operating and let's see what happens before UK opens at 8am . | arja
05/9/2020 11:54 | This has traded at a premium since forever so good opp to top up imo. Bought at 850 so lets see ! | scrabster1
05/9/2020 11:52 | Bought a ton yesterday. Tech will lead the way out of this recession and into the next boom. | scrabster1
04/9/2020 14:10 | quite ogod US figures at 1,30pm and nasdaq futures recovering . Let's hope it flows through to the physical market when it opens in 20 minutes ! nice weekend all and sunny here on the English riviera ! ( wry smile ) . | arja
04/9/2020 13:04 | nasdaq futures recovering a bit after sell off in last hour or so . Wish I had a quicker trigger finger to trade the nasdaq with IG but so volatile ! | arja
04/9/2020 12:53 | bit unfair as even blind freddie could see that TSLA had got ahead of itself when it hit $500 or so . But not sure why SMT is performing much worse than the other 2 nasdaq based truts . getting near chart support at 855 . | arja |
