What CAN one 'gain' from observing the M F F F ???
.
Today *WE ALL* CAN see, just how 'entrenched' they are... which is NOT 'an advisable 'mindset' for successful investors to get into'.
IF / WHEN investors become 'entrenched' into ANY particular investment, they tend to 'dig themselves in deeper'... and thus, loose the ability to remain 'flexible' in both 'thinking and actions'.
Successful investing REQUIRES the ability to 'MOVE QUICKLY' when 'things CHANGE'...
I.E. = Move IN or OUT, when one feels 'the time is right'.
It also helps, if one is able to accept the REALITY... When - as *WE ALL* have done -
one 'Gets it WRONG'.... or ...'Things turn SOUR'
.
Squabbling doesn't rectify matters
It just leaves one either 'High and dry' or 'underwater' ... when the 'tide turns' .
.
Successful investors KNOW the 'value' of being 'flexible of 'mind and action'...
AND, the benefit of being able to ACCEPT a smaller LOSS.. BEFORE it becomes BIGGER
Successful investors KNOW the 'DANGERS' of being 'INflexible of 'mind and action'...
That EGO plays... When NOT accepting YOU 'got it WRONG'

Scancell look to have lost support of Calculus and many PIs.

It will be interesting to see if The selling no continues. I suspect it will.

Loggy,You are making three enormous assumptions there:1. Everyone here has experienced a sharp fall in their investment. Not true, many of us have bought in at 10-12p.2. Liverpool WILL finish above MU. A binary bet, probably with not very good odds. 3. Anyone here takes any notice of Inan predictions They don't !

panama7, I understand where your thoughts come from re RG and the BOD, but don"t share your views. Pretty obvious to us all that timelines and clinical development, especially on platforms with so much promise take time. Would any of us expected Scancell to have issued an RNS saying come back in three years?? No company would have, it would have been suicide on the SP, far greater than what we have seen.

The passage of time and Biontech, CRUK, and Karolinska deals show we have moved forward, and daresay i say under Chiplins stewardship. I don"t think it is reasonable to criticise the man for building his stake at the prices he has, we all would have done the same. I also don"t think there is much to be suspicious of in using existing premises in San Diego either. Time will tell, but feel we are getting ever closer to very good news.

Dr Jennifer Wargo of the Department of Surgical Oncology at MD Anderson is an investigator in Scancell's SCIB1 Phase II combo trial. She has also been investigating the microbiome in conjunction with Melanoma & other diseases :

Q : Is it likely that any of her work will influence participation in the trial ?

panama7 - you know as well as I do (not like we have not had this conversation several times before) that cancer vaccines were in the wilderness due to high profile failures just a few years ago. He forecast that that particular "tanker" would reverse course and he was proven right. So maybe we yet again agree to differ on some but not all aspects relating to Scancell.

Goosed, would you also credit Goodfellow with leaving Investors out of pocket for 5 years, as for the collaborations you mention they are all Science based. Goodfellow was Commercial CEO and failed miserably.

panama7 - unlike yourself and some others I credit RG with the CRUK collaboration, the links with Adario & the BioNTech research collaboration. We await on what the Left Field statement refers to . . . etc.

I question a need for an Exec Chairman & Office which wont be cheap when the stated focus on US funding has failed to materialize. I'm counting on Lindy & her team to bring us home but have issues with Chiplin. As you say - still no IND !

Goosed, very good posts today about time someone questioned the performance of the BOD. Chiplin stated at the 2016 AGM that we would be totally transformed by the time of the next AGM. What hollow words, no substance to them whatsoever, we are a clinical trial company that has failed to carry out ant trials for 3 years and counting. No new patients for over 5 years, every single timescale not met, unable to complete an IND for a trial Chiplin himself would commence in 2017. There is no doubt when you add everything up this BOD have consistently misled and lied to Investors for 5 years.

torquayfan - disagree, neither the SCIB1 combo trial or Addario/CRUK were the work of either Chiplin or Holloway but agree ...... some searching questions are required. Biggest investor in Scancell no longer having eyes nor ears on the BoD - doesn't read well but perhaps we'll get an explanation.

Hang on Gooosed - the SCIB1 Combo trial is commencing in the USA in a few months so there's that at least - and Addario ?

I think you might be reading too much into K C-B's departure.

It does seem that JC may be asked some searching questions at the AGM and that's fair enough. However as we don't know how what is happening is happening - hard to condemn his contribution off hand ?

J777J - hope you're right. Chiplin has achieved diddly imo and although I am being a bit harsh re Holloway (relatively early days for him perhaps) the US based Exec Chairman & strategy has returned no tangible benefits - apart from some cheesy Brian Epstein anecdotes !

John Glencross as has already been pointed out, was not happy and aired his discontent publicly via Twitter. Kate C-B was a Calculus representative on the Scancell BoD as we all know.

Pure speculation on my part but with zero apparent value in a US based Executive Chairman (after a US centred strategy) & the expense of a San Diego office - Kate as a member of the remuneration committee (just prior to formulating resolutions for approval at the upcoming AGM) may feel that any further enhancements are simply not justified.

Hence my feeling that the existing situation needs addressing & any further enhancements voted down. All merely imo.

Chiplin & Holloway are well passed the honeymoon period and have achieved nothing to warrant anything other than a grilling at the forthcoming AGM.

Truffle, totally agree, when you look at the share price performance of the last 6 years against all the statements emanating from various BOD members, some very serious questions need to be answered.

Can't blame the non exec for going.
Just look at the performance of the company's share price over the past 7 years and it tells you everything.
