19/7/2023 12:12 | Inan"so i have no idea what you girl guides are on about"Let me explain: The mouse lab results have not been totally replicated in human trials. This possibility was acknowledged by a number here in contrast to your "no risk" assertion. That is not to say the below par results so far won't do incredible good to some patients and in turn will have some commercial value, albeit, not quite 8 British pounds. Even the TD 30p valuation looks a tad optimistic at the moment. | ruckrover

19/7/2023 11:54 | Ruck, i believe that the idiot was presented with a list of the possible " mechanisms of failure " at the time of the " debate ", however, as is always the case when the idiot has painted himself into a corner, HE LIES. And then, to make matters even worse for himself, he lies even more. How many times is it now, that he's been caught out and proven to be a liar and a cheat... I've lost count. | tosh123

19/7/2023 10:28 | So, just one of the many "risks" or "mechanisms of failure" was always going to be that the mouse results would not be replicated in humans. This single factor alone has multiple reasons why it may fail. Mouse model research is a valuable tool in biomedical research and drug development, but it does not always directly translate to success in human trials for several reasons: Genetic Differences: Mice and humans have significant genetic differences. While mice share many genes with humans, the functions of these genes can vary between species. Certain genetic pathways and responses to diseases or treatments that work in mice may not be relevant or applicable to humans. Biological Differences: Mice and humans have differences in physiology, metabolism, and immune systems. These variations can lead to varying responses to drugs or treatments. For example, drug metabolism and toxicity may differ between mice and humans, affecting drug efficacy and safety. Disease Complexity: Human diseases are often more complex than their mouse counterparts. Mice models might not fully replicate the complexity and progression of human diseases, making it challenging to accurately predict how certain treatments will behave in human trials. Immune Response: The immune response in mice differs from that in humans. Certain treatments that work in mice may trigger different immune responses in humans, leading to unexpected outcomes. Experimental Limitations: Mouse models are often used to study specific aspects of diseases or treatments, but they may not capture the full complexity of human biology. Human trials take a more comprehensive approach, considering various factors that can influence treatment outcomes. Preclinical vs. Clinical Conditions: Mouse studies are typically conducted in controlled laboratory conditions, while human clinical trials involve real-world scenarios with a diverse patient population. Factors like diet, lifestyle, and individual variability can influence outcomes in human trials. | ruckrover
19/7/2023 09:41 | Inan, Could you forward my idea to LD, she may find it inspiring. But I suspect she has already thought of it herself. | ruckrover
19/7/2023 09:37 | Ivy, "He has been well and truly knocked of his perch both scientifically and financially" I'm not sure he ever was on a perch? Unless it's for cut'n'paste. I can just imagine it - a parrot sitting up there saying "who's a pretty boy then?" There is of course an obvious solution to all Scancell's problems. We know modi worked 100% in humanised mice. All we need to do is mouseyfy humans and modi will work! I see no mechanism of failure for this approach. MODI worked in mice therefore it will work in mouseyfied humans - no risk. I'll do some research to find who has a product for the mouseification of humans (the Chinese are bound to have done it already). Expect some rivetting cut'n'paste articles later. | ruckrover

19/7/2023 08:46 | Inane, what an absolutely ridiculous post, you have surpassed yourself. So one family out of millions has returned home while millions can't wait to get away and enjoy some sunshine. You are an enemy of freedom loving people. How many years is it now that you haven't visited Thailand ? Is it A) because you have a criminal record B) You are scared to travel because of Covid C) It is too hot for pasty white body. | panama7
19/7/2023 08:31 | Not For Loz Ivy ......... A family abandoned their £2,000 Greek holiday three days early because of the unbearable Cerberus heatwave – saying their hotel turned into a “giant oven”. Sally Urwin, 49, and her two teenage sons decided to jet back from Rhodes after temperatures soared above 40C (104F). The trio landed on the island on July 12 and had been planning to stay for a week. But the heatwave forced them to spend all day in their hotel, which became boiling hot, said Ms Urwin. The author and her boys, aged 16 and 13, then returned to the UK on July 16 to welcome rainfall. Ms Urwin, from Matfen, Northumberland, said: “It was suffocating. I’ve worked in Texas and all over the globe, but it was just suffocating. “It made you feel faint and dizzy. It could make you feel unwell and we lost our appetites – we couldn’t eat much. “In the future if I went somewhere in southern Europe I would go in May and avoid July and August. “Especially with children, I’ll definitely change my plans in the future and avoid places like that this time of year.” telegraph Life with Loz ... all welcome said Loz especially my enemies | inanaco

18/7/2023 19:49 | Masterly explain why SC barely stands on one leg. If it was in strong position this dumping if 4m shares would have not created this drop of almost 50% in few that last 2weeks. Miserably position and BS explanation . Bottom line , commercialisation talks and the rest and that include all the BS explanation walks. | golcheja
18/7/2023 19:10 | Thanks the 'two timers' (Marking Time and Chilltime) and chillpill. Masterly explanation of the recent price crash. Also, 2tyke, whose explanation in terms that none of us could understand worked out when all the sellers had finished yesterday, and the buyers then returned today. Proving his, er, wavy-thing theory hands down. | dominiccummings

18/7/2023 16:23 | Evening All, Better day today even if it pulled back in afternoon. As you say Tosh Bermuda and Burble are held in high esteem not only for being knowledgable and informative but also balanced which earns respect. Unlike some who have been patently called out once again for stating that their is no risk in the human results not replicating the ore clinical mouse results despite being warned this could happen. He has been well and truly knocked of his perch both scientifically and financially(unlike most LTH here he gets no sympathy off anyone given his All in No Risk mantra). | ivyspivey |
