Why would anybody shop through Ocado as it is consistently the most expensive. Ocado is not really a grocery company, it is a tech company and is why valued at more than Sainsbury's, with circa 1/9th the sales of Sainsbury's and never made a profit and not likely to make a profit in the foreseeable future.

Aldi has once again been named the cheapest supermarket for the fifteenth month in a row, it has revealed. The discount chain has taken the crown after narrowly beating rival Lidl for the top spot by £1.32.

In August, the price of a basket of food in Aldi stood at £65.21. Coming in a close second was Lidl with a basket price of £66.53. Third place was Asda with a basket price of £71.48. Tesco came in at £74, Sainsbury's at £74.12, Morrisons at £75.37, and then Ocado at £79.38.

I was posting 5 years ago that I could see by 2025 combined Aldi/Lidl market share will be 22%. I don't think When the time comes, I'll be too far off the mark.

And neither of them are so stupid as to get themselves into home delivery as they know its a mugs game that will never be profitable.

RAAC concrete is basically the equivalent of using a chocolate teapot to make a cuppa.

Totally useless

Example: Harrow crown court was built in 1991 using RAAC.

This building has just been closed without any advance notice.

Can shareholders put in a freedom of information request to find out how many supermarkets were built with RAAC ?

Lidl has so far avoided making a push into the online grocery market, instead saying bricks-and-mortar stores marked a “significant growth opportunity” in their own right.

Lidl has been rapidly growing its share of Britain’s grocery market over the past year. The latest industry figures suggested it had taken a step closer towards leapfrogging Morrisons to become Britain’s fifth-largest grocer. Lidl holds a 7.7pc share of the market, up from 7pc last year, while Morrisons currently has a 8.7pc share, down from 9.3pc last year.

.
I'm sure people have seen the news regarding schools closing because of RAAC concrete.

This was used widely in many buildings between the 1950's and 1995.

I would guess that the majority of Sainsbury's supermarkets were built in that time frame.

Has Sainsburys given any indication of what percentage of their supermarkets may be affected by the RAAC issue ?

Could we see supermarkets being forced to close immediately ?

I seriously doubt this issue only affects school buildings.

Maybe because Ocado has never made a profit and is not forecast to do so for several years and therefore doesn't pay a divided and has a Negative Free Cash Flow.

Ocado dropped back by 5.5% today, a lot more than Sbry which fell back by just 1.2%. Probably Ocado went up too far too quickly so has potentially a lot further to fall.

Priced in and didn't stop Best way buying a significant stake. Wasn't a problem in the Morrison's takeover but I don't know the details.

Ocado has become too expensive on fundamentals after the recent rally, Sainsbury's is more like to be snapped up first!
