With Costcutter having such a small market share I really can not see the MMC making any fuss if they do decide to make a bid for Sainsbury's.

An interesting article all of which fits and I agree with. Personally I doubt that we will have our Sainsbury's shares this time next year unless the MMC blocks any potential takeover.

It seems to me reasonable to say over the next couple of months, Bestway is most probably initially aiming for a circa 10% stake in Sainsbury.

Bestway boosts Sainsbury's stake - just a week after the wholesaler insisted it does not plan a takeover of the supermarket giant

Bestway's stake has grown from 3.45% to 4.47%, regulatory filings show

The group has said it could add to stake 'subject to availability and price'

I wonder if that recent director sale was to Bestway.

Damn my sell order for 265p kicked in for my shares averaging 228. I forgot to take it off and now I'm out 😒

Was going to hold for 300p+.

Doh!

An increase of a little over 1% in a few days.

Bestway needs to accumulate a further 4.45% + the top 5 share holders = 50% plus of Sainsbury's

Tesco were allowed to buy Booker

So maybe Sainsbury's will buy Bestway

It is good to see share price improved and shorting is still not reduce @ current level 3.73% plus 1.00% sleeper account. I am waiting for others bidder to come forward that is why shorting is on hold. They are able to close shorting @ around 1.70 gbp the lowest price but not done. So wait and watch to cross 3.00 gbp and further reaction in price much better. Good luck

I would like to see, when a director sells, are they doing so on the open market or selling to a particular entity = transparency...

CIO sold 180,000 @GBP2.495 notified midday yesterday.

He should have waited!

Yes exactly! Bestway are onto a winner either way. Just the MMC to navigate for any potential bidder. Timing could be key.

or if another entity makes a bid at any time then this 6 months becomes void for Bestway.

Let's hope it stabilises above a.t.h. Everyone will soon jump in at these prices before it rises very quick. Going to have to pay a premium if it happens.

Absolutely, but they can't bid for 6 months - unless there is a material change in circumstances? 6 months is not long though and they have already made it clear that they are looking to build their holding.

Think it was a bit below 300p then spike 50p odd quickly. (From memory). Another month of decent performance then another rumour or 2 leaked should people this to 300p (and maybe beyond) again. The sooner the better imo.
