Curious weakness here with rates possibly starting to fall soon. 6.75% yield now...which in an ISA tax free is not to be sniffed at.

Added a final few at 108.6p which is ok for me with rates having peaked.

Excellent performance, 10% capital gain and locked in 8% dividend per year. I wished all my other investment were doing this well.

Bought based on inflation figures. Can't see bonds not performing now

Starting to look interesting again these. I will hold off as they are drifting down but if they can be snagged closer to par or even below then I'll buy back in.

Currently offering 103.9p to buy

True. I also had some BWSA but sold those at 116.5p when they announced the tender offer for them.

I see the attraction of the cumulative at the moment due to the current economy, but can't see Standard chartered missing a payment. As always time will tell and if rates start to fall back then all prefs should rise in value

Time will tell if that's a good swap or not, certainly takes you up the yield chain...but does it increase your risk? Also you go from cumulative at RSAB to Non cumulative at STAC. FWIW I hold both!

Just sold RSAB for 104 and bought STAC for 103.5. More than happy with that swap. there is a buyer for these and they may go higher but I've gained a 1% increase in yield on the swap.

We've not got a free trade agreement with our largest and most important trading partner, never will have as we won't accept free movement in the EU, just high taxes, high inflation, labour shortages and no investor would ever touch this country with a bargepole with its anti business policies. Anyway, I've sold here and reinvested in higher yield today.

Damage? We haven't brexited because these Tories won't sort it

The thing is though, although Brexit seems a long time ago, the effects of it are gradual, and it may take a generation or more before the damage reaches its lowest ebb. Till then, any investor will give the UK a wide birth.

thanks Dope in both but this is a little more secure as the capital is not at risk ( as much)

valuations are crazy low
