Posted at 31/7/2024 22:31 by 1knocker Putting more into i3 sounds like the triumph of hope over experience, graham! I want to see some tangible progress there before I add to my holding - a holding I currently wish i had not bought in the first place. It is tricky. I would like to buy a high, safe income to replace RSAB. Difficult to get both high and safe. If one of my big miners would oblige by dropping sharply, I would probably opt to top up there and live with the dividend volatility. Cordiant I like too, but it has already risen quite a bit since I bought a few months ago. Likewise Phoenix, which is chancier IMO. The tobacco stocks too have risen recently, and I am probably about as heavy there as I want to be anyway. Supermarket income is one I am running the rule over. Totalenergie has done me very nicely over the years, so maybe that is worth a top up. I welcome all thoughts on this 'two pipe problem'. |
Posted at 30/7/2024 13:58 by rik shaw But no sign of voting fee yet in HL.....? only 122p plus dividend so far. |
Posted at 29/7/2024 19:45 by 1knocker I will have made a bit on my top up at just over 119 - a bit of capital appreciation, some accrued dividend and the 2p a share voting fee - small profit quick return. I am rather surprised that window of opportunity was open for as long as it was, as this always looked a racing certainty to go through. As of tomorrow (fingers crossed) i shall have quite a dollop of cash to reinvest. A sharp market pull back would suit me just fine. Question is, do we get one? |
Posted at 16/7/2024 12:37 by jaf111 Farewell RSAB….Who’s next🤔㊂ |
Posted at 16/7/2024 12:35 by rik shaw Thanks for posting the link. (Just over 2.4p per share accrued dividend as expected.) |
Posted at 24/6/2024 15:38 by mr jinks I will be sad to see this go, but dont see much alternative. If the vote fails, does this mean that RSA don't buy the shares, and therefore they remain on the market? If so comparison with peers currently yielding around 6.5% would suggest a share price falling back to around 114, but even then the peer group share prices have been inflated by the RSAB offer, so a return to pre-offer price of around 110 could be possible. Whilst it is a lowball offer compared to current interest rates I believe that they have been quite clever in the way they have constructed the offer to tempt you to seek alternatives for your money. |
Posted at 23/6/2024 07:26 by joe say I've voted against having read the Investors Chronicle article this week. The logic is that this is a low ball offer and by voting you'll still qualify for the 2p voting fee regardless - so its effectively a free chance to push for a higher price with no risk of loss (you'll receive any accepted offer should the vote go in favour of RSAB) |
Posted at 20/6/2024 13:36 by damp seaweed Those that have their RSAB shares with IWeb may want to contact them immediately and directly through their secure messaging service. There is the possibility that Iweb may not offer their customers the Corporate Action and thus deny them the opportunity to vote. Consequently forfeiting the 2p voting fee (if the motion passes). This happened to me in the recent past with ENQ1. I ended up complaining to the FCA. I won the case and got compensation. |
Posted at 14/6/2024 12:31 by damp seaweed I’ve received this response to my query about RSAB redemption.Dear Mrs xxxx Thank you for contacting us. I have spoken to our corporate events department and they are preparing a communication regarding this event which will probably be sent out to customers who hold RSAB, in the middle of next week, the communication will lay out the corporate event and the options available, and any timescales which would apply. |
Posted at 13/6/2024 06:16 by rik shaw I'll be holding to 30/7 for the extra few %.Note though based on c120 days (from the previous payment due date of 1/4/24) I expect the accrued dividend to be just over 2.4p. (see page 13 of the Tender Offer Memorandum for worked examples of the accrued dividend at various dates.) |
