Never mind all that, it's tipped in Investors Chronicle this week. Can't c&p but the thrust of the article is that the combination of good acquisitions plus cost savings is going to show above-average growth for the next few years and that it trades at a discount to its peers when it warrants a premium.

Plastic Jar helps to keep wood beautiful

Specialist woodwork treatment supplier Alfred Clouth Lackfabrik has switched one of its leading brands from tin to rigid plastics with the introduction of a new plastic jar manufactured by RPC Bramlage-Wiko.

The new jar for Clou Holzpaste has been designed to match the tin that it replaced with two sizes of 150g and 250g. It is injection moulded in polypropylene to extremely tight tolerances to ensure a leak free container that provides maximum protection of the product.

The jar is produced in an eye-catching yellow pigment with contrasting blue lid to create on-shelf impact. Branding and product information is silkscreen printed in three colours onto the container.

The pack is lightweight and robust, and will not dent or rust, while a wide easy open and close lid offers ease of access and use for the end consumer.

A new addition to the range of Britain's oldest pasta sauces, Ragú, has become the first UK product to go on-shelf in RPC Superfos's award-winning SuperLock® barrier pack.

The 400ml pack, supplied to manufacturer Symingtons by RPC Containers Blackburn, has been selected in preference to glass due to its ambient shelf life of up to 24-months combined with glass-like transparency and the added in-home safety of a non-shatter container.

It should already be in the price because it's a 'done deal' as per the RNS on 1 May. It's not like a share going ex-dividend, where the share drops because after that date you lose the right to receive some cash. On 7 May, they will have more shares in issue but they will also have 600p in cash for every additional share, so the dilutive effect is minimal, even if they don't subsequently complete the acquisition for some reason.

If they've paid the 'right' price, then it shouldn't make any difference to the share price because the increased number of shares is balanced by the cash and assets acquired (i.e. you end up with a smaller slice of a bigger cake). If the market like the transaction - which they seem to - then the shares are likely to go on up.

Thanks Donaferentes,Have looked at a few placings recently that represent about 6%-8% of the issued capital of the Companies concerned, but to be honest there doesn't appear to be any consistent market reaction (some went up, some went down). So, as you suggest it will more than likely depend on sentiment on the day, will wait and see what happens on Tuesday & Wednesday.ThanksDD

First post on here, like the look of these but can those with a lot more experience please clarify the impact of the placing.Am I correct in thinking that the placing will/should reduce the value of existing shares by at least 7%/8% on the placing day of the 7th May (say down to approx 570p), or will the mm's aim to negate the share dilution by trying to hold the price at, or around, the placing value of 600p???...would like for once to get my entry level right!!.Any views and insights to how this will pan out would be very welcome, thanks.DD

Looks like another good acquisition. Not a bulletin board darling stock, this one, but just quietly gets on with the business of growing revenues, profits, earnings and dividends. I wish more companies did!
