So the PM is proposing putting Brexit on hold for two years beyond March 2019, but as yet has not said .... "what kind of arrangement" .... should replace it.

The question was asked recently why did the Government trigger Article 50 before it had a clear plan? The answer is to silence the Tory Right Wing.

Leeds they have created a bigger monster. With the politicians we now have a situation were the whole western world is technically bankrupt. they are printing to inflate away the debt EXCEPT. The low rates have ruined the spending power of those with money, and the no strings attached money has created multiple asset bubbles but done nothing for the man on the street and his wages.

We are in a very dangerous place, economically, thanks to lunatic CB policy that played to the stock markets tune and nobody elses

So now you add a third problem, too much liquidity.

You really think that without that liquidity and low borrowing costs that employment levels would be at record highs, not only as a percentage but in absolute terms?

In my opinion the wise men and women at the BoE have managed the effects of the banking crisis effectively.

Banging on that we would not have had a banking crisis if Gordon Brown had not emasculated the BoE 20 years ago, is irrelevant as to steps taken since the 2010 election when those powers were restored.

I am surprised Leeds you can't see it is both and one has led to the other. Low rates has robbed savings/pension annuities. Those same low rates and QE have led to an explosion in debt that will go sour at a slight increase.

the fact is the system should have been purged and it wasn't as it was in such a mess. the result is an even bigger mess as CBs printed trillions with no strings attached

Dope

I am surprised. You used to complain that low rates was hurting savers etc. Now you complain that raising rates will hurt those in debt.

Which is it?

So like 2007 banks start outperforming on rising rates potential. And like 2007 those rates will leave even more bad debt going sour than did in 2007 due to the trillions in QE flooded into the system that has blown multiple asset price bubbles at once. When is the next round of QE then from the FED?

Well she is delivering her speech in a Church.

The 13th-century church is the oldest of Florence's major churches, and located conveniently close to the city's train station. It is famed for its cloisters and chapels which house elaborate frescoes.

May's speech is set to take place at around 3.30 pm, and the prime minister does not have other official engagements while in Italy.
