The FTSE Group has confirmed that £73.9bn was wiped off the FTSE 100 today, as the London stock market suffered its biggest tumble in over six years.

The pan-European FTSE Eurofirst 300 has lost €450bn (£286bn) today, its worst performance since November 2008, as it ended the day 5.4% lower.

This brings total losses since the start of the month to €1 trillion.

China may reduce bank capital ratios, that didn't happen (as per market expectations) adds to the lack of confidence in China.

DOW correction SO overdue, I expected it last summer.
20% correction seems most probable, we will see , the market has come back a bit since 2.30.
USD was down 3% at one point. Sterling nearly so.
THe FED will be buying T bills this morning ( there) hand over fist to support the Stocks that the millions rely on for some income.
The Chinese will be happy to let them have theirs.
Then, gold will kick in.
