07/8/2015 15:16 | Meanwhile the US keeps on keeping on shorting commodities to sucker the Fed on inflation. | leedskier
07/8/2015 15:12 | Yes Leeds it's termed jawboning...and with the NFP coming in at expectations it leaves everyone guessing here too until jawboning QE (as I am inclined to view it ) points to further evidence of a freeze on further clear direction moves on either side of the pond in deference to the points you made recently on the UK front in terms of comparative advantages...let alone being able to provide a coherent strategy statement which can be therefore clearly understood...;) | ramco
07/8/2015 14:49 | I dunno - these yanks and their technology! Not sure the FCA would look into it though unless they were forced to. Some pundit would be able to explain markets falling at the weekend when they were closed and blame it on Greece or Quadruple witching Sunday or the global pineapple shortage etc | begorrah88

07/8/2015 08:08 | You've got to wonder how long people/insti's will continue to leave a buy order set for the open. Virtually every day the bots immediately sell down the open regardless of the days expectations etc The hedgies know it is like taking candy from babies so just set sell bots up from the minute the UK opens. I'll give you a pre market call for every day - it will open and immediately drop. | begorrah88
07/8/2015 08:05 | So much for pre market calls ... FTSE100 down 0.29% | leedskier
07/8/2015 07:48 | cfc1, it better for the maintenance of the happy and relaxed atmosphere on this BB, which marks it out from many others, if I remain silent on that issue. | leedskier
07/8/2015 07:21 | Is there a plain English version of this? Bank of England Deputy Governor Ben Broadbent said on Friday that the time for a first interest rate hike was getting closer as Britain's economic recovery continues to advance although the central bank still believes it is some way away. | leedskier

06/8/2015 20:31 | They have basically got anything they wanted for years for just doing a basic job. They earn more than Doctors and many professionals in most Countries including the UK. They don't know a good thing when they've got one. | isis
06/8/2015 20:13 | The tube guys are making a big mistake, playing into the gov's hands. They have ignored history, and now gives this gov the perfect excuse to smash them once and for all....in the interests of the downtrodden travelling public of course. Think: Miners, print workers, closed shops in general. | maxk |
