Liarspoker - I have bought in here today.

1. The fundamentals look excellent.

2. Decent companies connected to oil and gas are performing strongly - e.g. PFC (which I also hold).

3. The point and figure charts at every granularity (1 day, 60 minute, 30 minute, 15 minute etc.) are showing clustering of active targets at 1010+ indicating strong upside potential in near future. Such clustering at different time granularities is rare.

I've just starting researching Rotork which looks like a good long term investment that has good upside potential:

The questions is will it hold support at 800p? If not then next stop around 700p. Any thoughts on the light volume?

It does not say "no new news", it says "no material new information on current trading will be divulged during the visit" - eg no advantage to analysts and investors who attend the visit.

Rotork, the market leading actuator manufacturer, will be hosting investor and
analyst visits on 11 to 13 May 2009 inclusive at its Rotork Fluid Systems
operations in Lucca, Italy. The exercise is part of Rotork's ongoing investor
relations programme.
No material new information on current trading will be divulged during the
visit or in the company's presentations, following the publication of the
Interim Management Statement on Friday 24 April 2009.

Interesting T/S.

Mixed bag but Controls up 15.4% and still a record order book.

Cash of GBP 52m too up from GBP 41m in the space of 3 months - probably due to the record shipments in Q1.

Dividend


The Board is recommending an increase of 19.6% for the 2008 final dividend. This
equates to a payment of 16.75p per share payable on 8 May to shareholders on the
register at 14 April 2009.




Maybe phone the company tomorrow and ask if you're that keen on finding out. I personally don't mind as I'll be holding anyway. :O)

Well the 15th is ex-divi but you have to hold at close of play on Tuesday 14th to receive the divi. The 17th is the record date. All fairly confusing to new comers.

A number of important tech levels are now approaching around 760 and they will hopefully provide good support after the recent sharp sell-off.

50-day MA is at 763, 100-day MA is at 758, 760 is the 61.8% Fibo retracement of the rally from Mar 2 to Mar 18 and 760 is also the top of the Ichimoku cloud on the daily chart. Not a bad area to buy some in.
