30/11/2006 17:17 | I can see them jumping about a bit for the next few months at least, Rotork usually trade on an impressive P/E ratio, but I think this is getting a bit ahead of itself. If we see it near 700p I'll be topping up again - Most of mine were bought between about 350p and 500p. I bought a few more on the last dip a couple of months ago for 630p, so overall I'm rather pleased with the performance so far. Regards, B. | princessbouncy

02/8/2006 17:05 | in many press already........... "Among mid-caps, Rotork was the clear winner, surging after the engineering firm posted better-than-expected first-half results, prompting Arbuthnot to raise its recommendation to 'buy' from 'neutral' and UBS to repeat its 'buy' advice. The controls engineer reported a 38 pct jump in pretax profit to 23 mln stg for the first half of 2006, with turnover up 29 pct to 101 mln stg on 'excellent' growth in all three divisions." | abcd1234

01/3/2006 00:38 | Great results today. The order book is greater than last year's turnover. And total 06 divi will be about 4%. "Financial Highlights: * Record order book with order intake up 24% at #188m * Sales revenue up 19% at #175m * Operating profit up 20% at #36.5m * Earnings per share up 16.7% at 28.6 pence per share * #10m additional interim dividends during 2006" "Operational Review: * Strong performances in US and China * Excellent growth in all three divisions * Good business levels in all markets * Continued high levels of growth achieved by Rotork Fluid System" CEO: "The key drivers for the Group's businesses relate to investment in oil and gas, water and waste water and power generation installations around the world with demand being generated by new and expanded capacity, upgrades to existing facilities and replacements. This is often linked to projects which are aimed at improving the efficiency, safety and environmental performance of plants. Valve actuators are critical components and their long-term reliability and performance is extremely important to users. They also act as a key interface between plant control systems and related hardware. Rotork's reputation for quality, worldwide support and technical innovation is crucial to its leadership position in the field. The broad geographic spread of our operations and applications means that we have a large number of repeat customers around the world and no one customer accounts for more than 5% of our revenue in any year". Chairman: "Outlook- Conditions in most of our end user and geographic markets continue to be buoyant as reflected in the size of the order book at the start of the year and the strength of the order input since then. Based on this we are looking forward to further good progress in 2006". This looks like a runaway tilting train with lots more smoothly welded track in front of it. | arc en ciel
23/2/2006 16:30 | - how long can this keep going up? - I spotted the vaguest rumour from a link from Yahoo! finance a couple of weeks ago indicating bid speculation. The link seems to expired, but the wasn't any other information given anyway. As things, currently stand, we're on a trailing P/E of about 30 which is high but not insterstellar. There was a trading statemtn issued on 24 Nov 2005 saying they expect to report results at the top end of expectations. Broker consensus estimates ESP of about 28p and a P/E of 25. Once again this feels a bit on the high side and if no bid turns up I'd expect a mild correction. As a wild guess, I think that the fundies are good for 600 - 650p and if we get a blip I'll be adding more. If we get a bid, there is a good chance we might see that £10. Regards, HH | hothack

07/1/2006 19:22 | good old ROR looks to be heading to a tenner... | huwrayhenry
01/3/2005 22:00 | hothack: the company has targeted niche markets and its products are simple in concept. many of the specialised devices produced are, I would guess, protected by a web of patents. if they were not, competition would have emerged long ago. as patents have a finite life, modifications to designs can, over time, be used effectively to extend them. expertise in patent law and engineering design could, I would guess, be factors in the ongoing success of the group. additionally, skilled marketing and working closely with customers in target industries to produce solutions for them could also be factors. I've known people involved with the company for about 25 years. | bbbb
01/3/2005 19:47 | bbbb competition frequently targets success. They don't have any competition that I've ever seen mentioned. If anyone knows of some I'd be glad to have that information. patent management could be a key. I don't understand what you are trying to say. Regards, HH | hothack

28/2/2005 18:23 | - Does anyone have a view? - I've held Rotork on a long term basis for about three years. The price seems to be fairly stable (except when they got really cheap before the Gulf war II) so my reading of the fundies sees them as fairly priced. Fundies aside, they seem to be the right field to be able to sustain year on year growth for a very long time. Barring some kind of huge catastrophe, I can't imagine a world which won't need more and more power valves over time. They are not stuck supplying to one sector as the products are used in oil, water related projects and power stations. They also have a wide geographic spread. Apart from the odd bump and ripple in the price, the only problem I foresee would be competition from someone as yet unknown. Regards, HH | hothack

25/2/2005 10:58 | Valve engineering group Rotork delivered a strong set of full year results on Tuesday, but shares dipped as the group warned on the likelihood of weakness within some regions as a result of the current economic conditions. Revenue for the 12 months came in at £511.7m, up 14.3% from £447.8m in 2011, giving a pre-tax profit of £124.2m, up 10.3% from £112.6m a year earlier. Basic earnings per share rose 11% from 93p to 103.1p. The full year core dividend totalled 43p, compared to 37.25p in 2011. Over the year order intake climbed 16.8%, with the order book reaching a record high of £181m at the end of the year. The group said that each division had achieved record results in terms of order intake, revenue and profit. Chief Executive Peter France said: "The strong results across the group reflect the progress we have made in executing our strategy, with each division achieving record results in terms of order intake, revenue and profit. "Our expanded product portfolio and extensive international reach position us for further growth. We will continue to invest in infrastructure, product development and sales channels both organically and by acquisition to strengthen our presence in the wider flow control market. "The markets that we serve remain active and whilst we recognise that we are likely to see weakness within some regions due to economic conditions, the board remains confident of achieving further progress in the coming year." | cambium

30/12/2004 15:37 | 200day sMA still holding good but 420p res. proving tough to get through. Guess we get a clear signal when one or the other gives - assuming 200 sMA has momentum through to 420p of course! | trader2 |
