Nobody is shaking 10bn FTSE 100 company.

Agreed. My airline analogy was to indicate sentiment has swung to higher valuations than pre-COVID in many in the sector (even with raises). The market is saying the companies are stronger with less competition but RR lags the general recovery.

Hatfull,

mine was not a comment on whether raising funds was good, bad, unusual, etc. Just that they have and, therefore, one cannot appropriately take a pre-raise price and draw a straight line and say "we were there, there is where we should be". Mkt Cap, not price per se.

Terminal. U.K. index has put on sub 8 pc in 12 months, US has shot the lights out, dax has put on 15pc and French Bourse 20pc, brexit epic fail, no reason ftse will ever catch up, it is just hated, probably becos nobody has any faith in sterling holding up long term with the tory loonies in charge. Come back Blair ( 2.07 usd to pound under labour )

The Dow finished up yesterday and FTSE up this morning so hopefully RR will carry on up with the rest of the market. That aside it's still a snip at these prices with the savings made and the world beginning to open up.

remember the rights.
pre covid price jan 2020 about 181p.

They have taken huge costs out of the business since then and diversified into other promising areas such as nuclear civil and electric.

garth - All airlines raised money, they are now at all time highs. The sentiment will change for RR when long haul returns but that is not the only growth driver here (or cost reduction), that's what the market is slowly realising. Annual saving of GBP1.3bn is significant.

"We delivered further good progress on our fundamental restructuring programme with around 8,000 roles now having been removed and we expect to deliver more than GBP1bn of savings in FY2021 as compared with FY2019. This keeps us on track to achieve our aim of a reduction of at least 9,000 roles and run rate savings of more than GBP1.3bn by the end of 2022"

ITP Aero will remove > 1000 roles

I seem to remember post rights issue, the pre-covid MCap should equate to ~135p and they're a much more robust business now, with the military/gov contracts making up 1/3 of their turnover. Surely this is a long term hold, no?
