19/9/2024 11:32 | PC . Exactly ! and the SMRs will be a massive market to come ,dwarfing the aviation side if you ask me , its just time now and the right plan to get all the logistics in place, and I really do think Turbo is the man with a plan ! | thegrafter
19/9/2024 11:28 | MC, remember HM Govt hold the golden share! so when Millipede pulls his most stupid finger out , I'm sure they will be up there in the queue . Either way Milipede has been well and truly beaten to the net zero post with this one ! And will look the idiot he is, trying to play catch up once his wind turbine beer goggles come off . | thegrafter
19/9/2024 11:26 | Thegrafter, I'm anticipating a repeat of the last time I bought RR. in 02/03 - with a fair wind it should do even better than that recovery. There was no SMR in the mix at that time. | patientcapital
19/9/2024 11:19 | 1carus: you suggested HM Govt. may 'have to join the queue' unless they have a foot in the door. This made me think that as Tufan does not have the security clearance to access RR's nuclear facilities relating to our naval assets, presumably because of his nationality, he may stick two fingers up to HM Govt. if they haven't got 'a foot in the door'. Whilst I seriously hope that does not occur it really does now require some speedy progress from our people. I recall that not long ago we bunged a few million to one of the competitors to RR. Perhaps not a wise move in hindsight. | mcunliffe1
19/9/2024 11:04 | Plus the naval propulsion division has all the know how for moving water quickly which they will need for the SMR's so makes complete business sense to sell off a profitable asset which can be contracted out to manufacture all the pumping requirements the SMR's will need , and you get a large cash injection to deploy else where on the sale . De risk through contractual obligations, it works both ways , and we don't know as yet who the winning bidder might be to buy into the RR SMR as yet , and you can bet Turbo has a plan for that one too ! | thegrafter
19/9/2024 10:53 | PC , as the old saying goes ...... you aint seen nothing yet !! | thegrafter
19/9/2024 10:52 | 1carus , we are definitely on the same page with this one , and just wait till the yanks start , they are going to love this news !! | thegrafter
19/9/2024 10:46 | I'm finding +458% over book interesting as it is. | patientcapital
19/9/2024 10:41 | This will soon be £6 once the order book numbers start to feed through. Share value is a forecast of future value, this could now get very interesting indeed. SMR revenues are straight on to the top line as it is a new stream... even a few countries opting for RR will effectively be reducing options for others, as stated above, it is not like shelling peas and there is a limit to what they can produce. I suspect HMGov has a foot in the door as it would be really bad if RR have to turn around and say join the queue, could you imagine. Other countries who want the technology, and I think that will be a lot of EU countries, will be assessing their options quickly I think. It will be interesting to see how RR sells the scalability of this to the markets, this is going to be epic I think. | 1carus
19/9/2024 09:47 | That's where the FOMO comes in , lol , it's all to play for now ! lets wait and see what Turbo's plan is ,but its looking BIG ................ | thegrafter
19/9/2024 09:42 | Agreed. Why no RNSs I wonder | pyglet
19/9/2024 09:02 | SMRs are definitely off and running now that's for sure , and as yet no details on the sale proceeds amount on the naval disposal either , very coincidental if you ask me as that's going to raise a lot of cash , plus the new SMR head starting 30th of this month ........... Clear for take off everyone ;-) | thegrafter
19/9/2024 08:41 | Rockets off.... | shaf200
19/9/2024 08:33 | pal44 I did say if it dipped below 501.40 then it wouldn't take long before it would be back and more ! The sky is the limit now on FOMO lets enjoy the ride ! | thegrafter

19/9/2024 07:40 | Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) has reached an agreement to sell its Naval Propulsors & Handling business to Fairbanks Morse Defense. The sale comprises the naval propulsors units in Pascagoula, Mississippi and Walpole, Massachusetts, in the US, as well as the specialized naval handling systems unit in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. The Naval Propulsors & Handling business manufactures and supports a range of specialist propellers and waterjets for naval applications, as well as specialized handling systems that enable the deployment and recovery of manned and unmanned craft, and other cargo, from naval vessels. Rolls-Royce will retain its Naval Gas Turbines and Generator Sets operations, which provide power dense solutions for naval propulsion and onboard power needs. Adam Riddle, President – Defense and Chairman & CEO, Rolls-Royce North America, said: Rolls-Royce Naval Propulsors & Handling is an industry leader and trusted supplier to navies around the world. We are pleased to collaborate with Fairbanks Morse Defense, who recognizes the value of this business and the outstanding opportunities for its strong future. We believe this transaction represents the best outcome for the business, its people and the military customers they serve." Last year, Rolls-Royce presented its strategy to become a high performing, competitive, resilient and growing business to investors. In Defense, the focus is on strategic growth in the areas of combat, transport and submarines. Until the transfer of the Naval Propulsors & Handling business is complete, Rolls-Royce Defense will continue its activities unchanged to ensure that customer relationships, delivery and service obligations remain unaffected. This sale is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory review and approval. The financial details of the sale are not being disclosed. | thegrafter
