This will soon be £6 once the order book numbers start to feed through. Share value is a forecast of future value, this could now get very interesting indeed. SMR revenues are straight on to the top line as it is a new stream... even a few countries opting for RR will effectively be reducing options for others, as stated above, it is not like shelling peas and there is a limit to what they can produce. I suspect HMGov has a foot in the door as it would be really bad if RR have to turn around and say join the queue, could you imagine. Other countries who want the technology, and I think that will be a lot of EU countries, will be assessing their options quickly I think. It will be interesting to see how RR sells the scalability of this to the markets, this is going to be epic I think.

SMRs are definitely off and running now that's for sure , and as yet no details on the sale proceeds amount on the naval disposal either , very coincidental if you ask me as that's going to raise a lot of cash , plus the new SMR head starting 30th of this month ...........

Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR., ADR: RYCEY) has reached an agreement to sell its Naval Propulsors & Handling business to Fairbanks Morse Defense. The sale comprises the naval propulsors units in Pascagoula, Mississippi and Walpole, Massachusetts, in the US, as well as the specialized naval handling systems unit in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.
The Naval Propulsors & Handling business manufactures and supports a range of specialist propellers and waterjets for naval applications, as well as specialized handling systems that enable the deployment and recovery of manned and unmanned craft, and other cargo, from naval vessels.
Rolls-Royce will retain its Naval Gas Turbines and Generator Sets operations, which provide power dense solutions for naval propulsion and onboard power needs.
Adam Riddle, President – Defense and Chairman & CEO, Rolls-Royce North America, said:

Rolls-Royce Naval Propulsors & Handling is an industry leader and trusted supplier to navies around the world. We are pleased to collaborate with Fairbanks Morse Defense, who recognizes the value of this business and the outstanding opportunities for its strong future. We believe this transaction represents the best outcome for the business, its people and the military customers they serve."
Last year, Rolls-Royce presented its strategy to become a high performing, competitive, resilient and growing business to investors. In Defense, the focus is on strategic growth in the areas of combat, transport and submarines.
Until the transfer of the Naval Propulsors & Handling business is complete, Rolls-Royce Defense will continue its activities unchanged to ensure that customer relationships, delivery and service obligations remain unaffected.
This sale is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory review and approval. The financial details of the sale are not being disclosed.

Up to 10 x SMR's to be ordered by 2050 !! Whoop whoop ;-) Czechs To Develop Small Nuclear Reactors With Rolls-RoyceThe Czech government said Wednesday it endorsed Britain's Rolls-Royce as a partner for the state-owned power group CEZ to develop small modular nuclear reactors (SMR).AFP - Agence France PresseSeptember 18, 2024The Czech government said Wednesday it endorsed Britain's Rolls-Royce as a partner for the state-owned power group CEZ to develop small modular nuclear reactors (SMR).The Czech Republic depends on CEZ's two nuclear plants for 30 percent of its electricity generation."The government has acknowledged and endorsed the partnership with Rolls-Royce SMR," Prime Minister Petr Fiala told reporters.Prague does not want to buy SMRs but to enable Czech companies to develop and produce them, he added."This is what the strategic cooperation with Rolls-Royce enables," said Fiala, adding the first Czech SMR could be built in the first half of the 2030s.which runs nuclear plants in the southern villages of Temelin and Dukovany, is planning to install the first SMR at Temelin.Other bidders for the partnership included US giant Westinghouse, the US-Japanese grouping GE Hitachi and France's EDF.CEZ said earlier it was planning to install up to 10 small modular reactors by 2050.Compared with conventional nuclear reactors, the SMRs are relatively simple to build, as their systems and components can be factory-assembled and transported as a unit to a location for installation. They are also more affordable than large power reactors and bear low risk of a serious accident. In July, CEZ announced it had chosen South Korean power giant KHNP to build two conventional nuclear units at a cost of almost nine billion dollars at Dukovany. The new units will raise the share of nuclear energy to half as coal-fired power stations are gradually phased out as part of a shift towards greener energy resources. The government expects the first new KHNP reactor to be launched in trial operation in 2036.

I'm with everyone too , the SMR news is fantastic !! It should be a good day for the share price boys and girls ;-) Rolls-Royce's nuclear power ambitions received a major boost last night as the firm secured a key contract. The British engineering giant has been selected to build mini nuclear power plants for the Czech government.Rolls-Royce beat competition from French, American and Japanese rivals to be named as a preferred supplier to state-owned power group CEZ.British engineering giant Rolls-Royce has been selected to build mini nuclear power plants for the Czech governmentThe deal will see Rolls-Royce develop and construct small modular reactors (SMRs), with the first one expected to be built near the Temelin nuclear power plant beforeNuclear power is seen as a key source of clean energy as the world shifts towards net-zero.SMRs are smaller than conventional nuclear reactors and can be made in factories. They could transform how power stations are built by making construction faster and cheaper.Rolls-Royce is hoping to build SMRs in the UK, having previously outlined plans for 16 plants across the country d trade secretary Jonathan Reynolds said last night: 'This is an outstanding vote of confidence in British engineering and proof the UK is at the cutting edge of nuclear technology.'Other bidders for the partnership included US giant Westinghouse, the US-Japanese group GE Hitachi and France's EDF.Rolls-Royce SMR chief executive Chris Cholerton said it was a 'landmark' announcement.
