Careful. I'm holding too but bravely averaging down, painful isn't it! Even if I'm a bit out with my figures enough cash for at least 2 years as a minimum I would think. Flights should get back to 65-80% levels by Q1 or Q2 next year and with RR aerospace downsizing should be sustainable, Trent 1000 issues will be history soon too don't forget that one. Society should gain confidence in living with disease and try to operate with new protocols. People still scared stiff at moment but confidence to resume returning slowly, My opinion only

RR aren’t limited to aero engines even though that is currently the main earner. They can easily diversify into other areas of engineering to make up in future for the Reduction in flights. It may actually work out being a positive Over time to move into other areas?

I hope you are right Big1Day.
The share price is too low if you are correct.
I am holding and will go down with the ship if required.

RR have access to 7.1bn cash and flying hours I estimate will be 45-50% that of previous levels average for the total year so should not burn more than 3bn this year when considering other costs and savings being made. Next year flights @ 70% guestimate but then downsized business incurring less cost so IMO plenty of cash to see them through approx 3 years plus.

HMG may end up owning RR, again.
The employees will feel more secure if this happens, as before.
As previously the shareholders will get wiped out.

RR. Would be better placed if they had not lost billions of bungling currency hedging operations.

The difference this time around is that there are dozens of previously mighty companies that need the same bailout.

Rolls will not go bust its just a matter of time when airlines are back flying and things will begin to get better. They have enough cash for the next 9 to 12 months IMHO.

Agree.
Rolls Royce wont go bust, unlike many airlines - but it will need a capital infusion at some point.

jackdaw,

That 28bln is structured and spread over many years. No different to oil companies like pmo or tullow, billions in debt and marketcap in low hundreds of millions and largely cashburn/loss-making in these depressed times.
