In another defiant gesture against Argentina, the British administration of the Falkland Islands advanced in the process of offshore oil exploration in disputed South Atlantic waters and at the same time launched a call to recruit a "government CEO".After a meeting in the Executive Council of the Malvinas Islands that took place last Monday, a public consultation was launched until August 5, referring to the "Environmental Impact Statement EIS", of the Sea Lion field in the Development Area of the north of the Malvinas, Phase 1 and Phase 2, which was submitted by Navitas Petroleum Development and Production. In this way, the islanders unilaterally advanced in a new process of oil exploration that challenges Argentina's claim of sovereignty in the Malvinas. In fact, Foreign Minister Diana Mondino presented last week at the UN Decolonization Committee where she once again claimed Argentine sovereignty in the islands, questioned Britain's position of illegal occupation and demanded the use of natural resources for Argentina. However, the Secretary of Malvinas and Antarctica, Paola Di Chiaro, who reports to the Foreign Ministry, did not want to respond to El Cronista about the government's official position on this new advance of offshore exploration by the islanders in disputed waters. The British administration of the Falklands reported that the new development of oil exploration is located 220kms north of the Islands, involves the drilling of 23 wells and the production of more than 300 million barrels of oil for more than thirty years, through the use of a Floating Storage Platform to load tankers. more commonly known in the industry as an FPSO.This entire process is carried out in the Department of Mineral Resources of the islands and for Argentina it constitutes a challenge to the claim of sovereignty since it is located in the space of disputed waters. In search of an "official CEO"Separately, the island's administration published an ad in the weekly Penguin News offering the job of "CEO, General Manager of the Government Apparatus" with a gross annual salary starting at £142,700 (about £170,000).In the statement of request for this unusual work, the islanders ask that the tasks be for a "strategic advice and policy guidance to the elected members of the Legislative Assembly."It is also proposed that this official CEO offer "advice and support to the Governor, or leading and directing the Civil Service of the government of the Falkland Islands (Malvinas)". Meanwhile, it was highlighted that it is a "multifaceted work, which offers a challenge to a fulfilled leader accustomed to working effectively in political exchange and exposed to a wide and diverse range of stakeholders."In the characteristics required of this "official CEO" he "must be alert to, and involved with the changing external landscape while ensuring his focus on improving the performance of the government apparatus, on the transformation and delivery throughout the government to ensure" that the islands are well placed to "capitalize and reaffirm their position in the world".The island's administration is made up of a governor appointed by Great Britain and a Legislative Assembly. But this "official CEO" will have "a representative role, naturally contributing to the reputation of the Islands both nationally and internationally".Among the requirements asked is that "a senior leader with an appreciation of Public Service and its values, it will be necessary to translate his or her experience into ensuring a public service that allows all members of this unique community to thrive and reach their potential."The position is offered for a fixed time of up to four years initially, with the possibility of an extension of another year.

When I started asking questions of the Navitas hierarchy I was swiftly blocked lol ?That's why everything is in Hebrew ?The European site tells you sweet FA?The whole beauty of Navitas is its obscurity from scrutiny, so you can forget about them telling you anything they don't want you to know, and that includes the name and current contractual status of the FPSO "identified" in the EIS.There might be a few blokes in overalls who know some details, and TopDrive has said as much below.

I can't find any mention of that in the online AGM presentation.

Steven, the only mug around here is YOU, remember YOU are the one that requires Rockhopper shares to hit 88p just to breakeven !!

The facts speak for themselves:

Before going BUST, Desire Petroleum discovered sea water not Oil in the North Falklands Basin.

ExxonMobil, the world's largest oil company stated that the Falkland Islands contained INSUFFICIENT hydrocarbons to make exploration and development worthwhile or profitable.

After extensive test drilling in the North Falkland Basin, Royal Dutch Shell also concluded that there were insufficient Oil reserves to make commercial recovery profitable.
