I hope I'm not too wrong by taking a dabble - usually the stock falls by 5% !

Looking ahead, I think there is pent up demand, even if we get another 0.5% rate rise. In most markets inflation is cooling and in the UK that means houses and property in general.

All these share buybacks don't seem to be doing any good at all.

If Purplebricks and Strike are paying Rightmove as separate companies, I wonder how long until they merge into a single brand. Could be the biggest loss of revenue for RM ever! PB just reduced fee so if the new company are going to stand any chance of being viable, they will need to reduce portal costs substantially. RM now wanting to apply above inflation increases (17%) to agents already on the brink, it could be the straw that breaks the camel's back!

This is very very peculiar...

The company is doing better than ever and yet the shares are falling.

The housing market is picking up

And there are record numbers of properties coming onto the market.

Also, and I keep saying this. RMV gets paid for listings and not for sales.

This lifted, unexpurgated, from the outlook statement..

"The strong ARPA growth in H2 2022, and the momentum it provides for 2023, gives us increased confidence in ARPA growth in 2023.

We expect customer numbers to follow a similar pattern to that of the second half of 2022.

In 2023, we will maintain our disciplined cost management and focus on profitable revenue growth, as we continue to invest in innovation. The increased inflationary backdrop is not expected to materially impact costs, and we expect an Underlying Operating Margin for 2023 of c73%.

Our capital returns policy, whereby substantially all cash generated in the year is returned to shareholders, remains unchanged.

The strength of our proposition, coupled with our on-going innovation, underpins the Board's confidence in Rightmove's outlook for 2023 and beyond."

The average revenue per advertiser, a key metric, grew 11% to GBP1,314 from GBP1,189, and beating company-compiled consensus of GBP1,300 by 1.1%. Rightmove said it was "not materially impacted by the property market cycle," as it noted increased confidence in average revenue per advertiser growth in 2023.

As I said in January..Rightmove gets paid for listings not house sales.

Rightmove is about the confidence that estate agents have in them as a sales tool for selling houses. And that remains unabated.

£197 million returned to shareholders via buybacks and divis with more of the same to com

It always take a while for results to be reflected in the price

How is your short looking?

In the current climate to many undervalued stocks exist to be wanting to look for short opportunities.
Invest in growth, not destruction.

RMV gets paid for listings, therefore even if house prices dropped and rents dropped then RMV still gets paid..
In fact if people need to start moving (rental) then this will actually have a positive effect as more listings appear.. :-0

Its a no brainer... Its a BUY

I do not think that investors really understand this.

surprising RMV is holding up as housing market is quiet with falling prices and little activity and less listings with RMV I imagine. I believe it is much more expensive to list on RMV than on Zoopla too.
